Kosovo at NATO Parliamentary Assembly (Klan Kosova)

Kosovo delegation led by Kosovo Assembly Deputy Presidents, Xhavit Haliti, and Slobodan Petrovic, are participating at the works of NATO Parliamentary Assembly, in Sarajevo.

During the three-day “Rose Roth” meeting, of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, they will analyze the political and security situation in the region and countries that are undergoing major security crisis, war against international terrorism, security in Europe, lowering of nationalist tensions among Balkans states and nations.

Rasic: No one from governing coalition discussed army with Serbian List (Klan Kosova)

Kosovo Assembly’s Serbian MP, Nenad Rasic said today that Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci and people of the political scene in Kosovo, appear to have lost their way.

“No one from the PDK-LDK coalition has discussed with the Serbian List about the army,” Rasic said.

Ahmetaj: Vote demarcation in order to gain visa liberalization (Klan Kosova)

Kosovo’s Minister for European Integration, Mimoza Ahmetaj, appealed to Kosovo Assembly MPs to ratify the Agreement with Montenegro on border demarcation as soon as possible, because it is the only remaining criteria for liberalisation of visas for Kosovo people to move freely in Schengen zone.

In an interview for Radio Kosova, Ahmetaj said that the EU High Representative, Frederica Mogherini, said that progress has been reached on fighting organized crime and corruption.

Jevtic: Army was not part of coalition agreement with PDK and LDK (Klan Kosova)

Dalibor Jevtic, Minister for Returns and Communities in the Kosovo Government, said today that Kosovo Serbs do not support the idea of forming the Army of Kosovo, “because this was never part of the coalition agreement between the PDK, LDK and the Serbian List”. Jevtic argued that the funds that would be used for the army should be used for opening a factory. He did not say when the Serbian List could return to the Kosovo institutions and also called for the immediate formation of the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities.

Quni: LDK prefers creation of army through constitutional changes (Klan Kosova)

Speaking about the initiative of President Hashim Thaci to set up a Kosovo army through amending the current law on the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MP, Anton Quni, said his party would prefer the transformation to be done though constitutional changes. “We prefer the KSF transformation not to be disputed by any NATO skeptic,” Quni said adding that LDK would want the Kosovo army to have the support of strategic partners and be able to take part in NATO peacekeeping operations.

Decision on Haradinaj’s extradition request postponed for 6 April (Klan Kosova)

The court in Colmar, France, has decided to postpone the decision on the request for Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) leader Ramush Haradinaj’s extradition to Serbia for 6 April. Haradinaj reacted to the move saying he was being held “political hostage” and that the decision to postpone was “absurd”. Haradinaj was arrested by French authorities in January on an arrest warrant issued by Serbia.

Kosovo Assembly MP from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Lahi Brahimaj took to Facebook to write that “the decision to delay the verdict for Haradinaj concludes the misery of Kosovo’s leadership. “How worthless you leaders of the institutions of Kosovo are, this misery comes from your hypocrisy,” Brahimaj wrote.

Mustafa: Commission’s report on border demarcation to approved this week (media)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said the government will endorse this week the Commission for measuring of Kosovo territory report this week which gave the green light to the current version of the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro. At the government meeting, Mustafa said this is the last chance for the agreement to be ratified and pave way for visa liberalisation.  “Ratification cannot fail,” Mustafa is quoted in Klan Kosova.

Mustafa: Economic development, government priority (Klan Kosova)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said at a conference in Pristina that economic development is a priority for the government and that Kosovo has improved its ranking in world indexes for doing business. Mustafa said the government will make further efforts to improve the investment climate and that the labour market in Kosovo is quite flexible.

Experts claim Kosovo loses territory trough border deal (Klan Kosova/Telegrafi)

A group of experts said today that the border demarcation agreement increases the territory of Montenegro by over 70 square kilometres to the detriment of Kosovo. “From 1945 to 2015, Montenegro has reported a territorial surface of 13,812km2 but following the signing of the agreement with Kosovo, this figure has increased to 13,882.44km2,” said Shpejtim Bulliqi, MP from the ruling Democratic League of Kosovo and staunch opponent of the border demarcation agreement.
