Yee: No redrawing of Balkan borders (Klan Kosova)

In an interview to the Greek daily paper Kathimerini, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasian Affairs, Hoyt Yee, said that his country does not support any redrawing of borders in the region. “Borders of the Balkans countries are clearly defined, internationally recognised, and not a matter of dispute. Families of the missing persons unite (Klan Kosova)

Bajram Qerkini and Milorad Trifunovic, the first one Albanian and the second a Serb, now have their own office in Pristina. They are both representatives of the families of the missing persons during the war in Kosovo, who will be working under the same roof at the Resource Center of the Missing Persons. They symbolically started their work with an appeal for institutions to engage more on shedding light on the fate of more than 1600 missing persons.

Ymeri: The will of Serb voters got distorted by Serbian List (Klan Kosova)

Vetevendosje leader, Visar Ymeri, wrote on Facebook that the will of Kosovo Serb voters was distorted in 11 June elections through the pressure exercised by the Serbian List. “Initially, this was exercised on other local Serb parties by forcing them to withdraw from elections such as the case with one party who withdrew its list of candidates following pressure from Belgrade. Kusari-Lila terminates municipal coalition with PDK (Klan Kosova)

Mimoza Kusari-Lila, Mayor of Gjakova/Djakovica, terminated today the municipal coalition with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). In a memo to the head of PDK branch in Gjakova/Djakovica, Kusari-Lila said the decision came following PDK’s “continuous decrease of performance” and the party’s focus on political gains rather than general interest of the municipality.

Kusari-Lila is the leader of the newly-formed Alternativa party which ran alongside the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) in last week’s elections.

Alternativa: We are not considering cooperation with any other coalition (Klan Kosova)

Mimoza Kusari-Lila, Mayor of Gjakova/Djakovica and leader of Alternativa which ran under a coalition with the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR), thanked the people of Kosovo for democratic elections and assured her voters that their will would be respected. She said Alternativa would remain in the pre-election coalition with LDK and AKR and is not considering cooperating with any other coalition.

Election observing NGOs report a case of photographing the vote in Shtërpcë/Strpce (Klan Kosova)

The election observing NGOs – KDI, INPO and GLPS – through a press statement today announced that in Shtërpcë/Strpce polling station 2306D/03D, one person was caught taking a picture of the vote. The person, belonging to K-Serb community, was detained and interviewed by the Kosovo Police. The news was confirmed by Kosovo prosecution and KP during a press conference today.

Vetevendosje: We will not allow vote theft (Klan Kosova)

Vetevendosje officials said in a press conference today that they have decided to take precautionary measures to prevent a possible vote theft this Sunday. Leader Visar Ymeri said they have doubled the number of commissioners that will observe elections and protect Vetevendosje’s votes. “We will not allow coalitions of darkness abusing our votes”, Ymeri said.
