The front page editorial of this daily writes that different surveys of the non-governmental organizations show gradual falling of the trust of people in the parties which (miss) govern Kosovo. The writer of this editorial considers that increase of disappointment should become a serious concern of the parliamentary parties. The Kosovar voter cannot be deceived that easily after a decade and a half, as it happened in the past, when the votes were casted due to some euphoria in relation to the mythologized leaders.

Kosovo government decides to dissolve Civil Protection (Koha)

The Kosovo government has decided today to dissolve the so-called Civil Protection that has operated as a parallel security structure in the northern municipalities. The government’s decision foresees: the integration in Kosovo’s institutions of 483 persons who were members of this structure, and taking over all facilities that were previously used by the Civil Protection.

Kosovo to Reform Taxes To Help Businesses and Poor (Balkan Insight)

Kosovo MPs will vote on significant tax reforms on Thursday, expected to lessen the burden on the poorest members of society as well as boosting businesses and investors.

The Kosovo government is pushing for significant tax reform, aimed at stimulating investment, as well as lowering VAT on basic consumer goods, aimed at the helping the poor.

MPs in the assembly are due to vote on the changes on Thursday.

Minister Hyseni in Brussels, requests membership at Interpol (Koha)

Skender Hyseni, Kosovo’s Minister for Internal Affairs, is staying for a two-day visit in Brussels. Today, he met with Deputy of the General Secretary at the European People’s Party (EPP), Christian Kremer. They discussed the general situation in Kosovo and the region, with a special focus on the situation of the rule of law in Kosovo.

70 million € agreement (Zeri)

The government of Kosovo in the next few weeks will sign a financial agreement IPA 2014 with the European Commission in value of 70 million €, which would be programmed by the Ministry of European Integration. This agreement, according to the representatives of the government, Kosovo would benefit from this agreement in many developmental sectors.  European Integration Minister Bekim Collaku said that through this agreement, Kosovo would benefit the European Union best practices in improving services and increasing capacities in different sectors.

Imer Mushkolaj criticizes opponents of the special court noting that they find all sorts of arguments, starting from violation of sovereignty and integrity, KLA’s clean war, special war against KLA, but none of them speaks about the most important issue, the victims. “The people who are not among us anymore and who are suspected to be murdered by former KLA warriors,” writes Mushkolaj.

Germany supports Brussels dialogue and normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia (Gazeta Express)

The Minister for dialogue, Edita Tahiri, met today with the delegation of the German Foreign Ministry, headed by Helge Tolksdorf, Director for the EU Enlargement, South-Eastern Europe and Turkey at Germany’s Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

The key point of the discussions was economic development of Kosovo and Germany’s support on this direction.
