Kosovo Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, said today that the ruling coalition is working to secure the required number of votes to resubmit the demarcation deal with Montenegro in the Kosovo Assembly. Mustafa also said he was confident that the draft law on the border demarcation with Montenegro will be ratified soon.
The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, visited Iber/Ibar River Bridge today and said that Kosovo needs bridges in Mitrovica, not walls. “Today I visited Mitrovica and saw the wall that was built there. It is incomprehensible how provincial nationalist mentality builds walls at this time. It would be best if those funds were spent on construction of another bridge in Mitrovica. Pristina and Mitrovica need to build more bridges, because our common destiny are bridges, not walls.
The British Ambassador to Kosovo, Ruairi O’Connell, during a Q & A session on his Facebook page said that the wall in Mitrovica is a sensitive issue. “The wall is the issue of the week. I understand that it is a very sensitive issue. The EU has worked with both parties for years to ensure freedom of movement. I do not think that the construction of a wall helps. But I also think that the integration of Kosovo depends on many factors other than building a wall or not.”

The Kosovo Assembly Foreign Affairs Committee discussed today the recently-built wall near the main bridge over the Iber River. The head of the committee, Elmi Recica, said the entire project for the revitalization of the bridge was not made public. According to him, the MPs did not have knowledge of the entire project. Zafir Berisha from the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) said the wall initiative is a continuation of Serbia’s projects for Kosovo's partition.
The news website reports that the Pristina-based initiative “Breathe” will organise a protest against air pollution in Pristina this week. Preparations for the protest are underway and 2,000 people are expected to take part.
