Kosovo needs France’s support on European integration (Koha)

Kosovo Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli, met on Monday with a group of MPs of the National Assembly of France. The delegation headed by Genevieve Gosselin-Fleury, member of the French National Assembly and Chairman of the Group of Friendship France-Kosovo, also included French Ambassador to Kosovo, Maryse Daviet. The meeting focused on the current relations between the two parliaments: the French National Assembly and the Assembly of Kosovo.

Veterans enter the government front yard (Koha online)

War veteran protesters who are requesting clearing of the  war veterans' Lists , have managed to cross the fence of the government premises, and are currently at the front yard of the government of Kosovo.

There are clashes between the protesters and the police. The latter have created a cordon in front of the entrance of the main building and they are not allowing anyone to enter the building. Kosovo Police special units are also present at the yard of the government of Kosovo.

Prime Minister Mustafa apologizes to women (dailies)

Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, while attending the Week of Women in Pristina, admitted that Kosovo needs bigger inclusion of women in the decision-making processes. According to him, Kosovo needs to have more women leaders. Mustafa said that it is impossible to develop economy without the presence of women. “You might accuse me that I have only two women ministers in my cabinet, and I apologize for this. We should have had more women in government,” Mustafa said.

Hahn: Pristina conference speaks volumes about cooperation potential (DW/Koha)

In an interview for Deutsche Welle in Albanian, European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn said he is convinced that regional cooperation helps in bringing the people together. He said the fact that the latest Western Balkans Summit took place in Kosovo on Serbia’s proposal shows the potential behind this multilateral cooperation.

Tahiri: Construction in the north has not been discussed in Brussels (Koha)

Kosovo minister without portfolio Edita Tahiri said today before MPs that construction works in the north of Kosovo has not been discussed in the Brussels dialogue with Belgrade. However, she said efforts are underway to try and resolve the matter through a memorandum of understanding which has yet to be signed by the mayors of northern and southern parts of Mitrovica.

Mustafa: No compromise on rule of law (Koha)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, along with the European Union Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, on Wednesday made the official inaguration of the new facility of the Palace of Justice in Pristina. Mustafa, during the inauguration ceremony said that the new facilities contribute to proper work of the justice system. He also pledged that the government of Kosovo will continue to work on the independence of the judiciary. “There should be no compromise in the rule of law,” Mustafa said.

Hahn: Joint work needed to develop economy (Gazeta Blic/Koha)

The EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, said today in Pristina at the Western Balkans 6 Summit that the EU is ready to invest in the road and railway infrastructure to get the people of the Balkans closer to one another and to the EU. “To provide the most important investment, we need to be careful in selecting priorities. Furthermore, if you are determined to push the economy forward, you need to work together,” Hahn told regional ministers gathered at the summit.
