Court trial of Ivanovic and four other Serbs to continue today (KoSSev)

Court trial of Oliver Ivanovic, Dragoljub Delibasic, Ilija and Nebojsa Vujacic and Aleksandar Lazovic will continue today in North Mitrovica. Ivanovic and others are charged for serious crimes committed against Albanian civilians in Kosovska Mitrovica in 1999 and 2000. Oliver Ivanovic is leader of the Civic Initiative SDP Oliver Ivanovic.

Bring back Serbs into the Kosovo institutions (KoSSev, Danas)

EP member and Vice-President of the Socialist & Democrats group, Tanja Fajon, voiced the opinion that the opening of the first chapters in the Serbia's negotiations with the EU should occur as soon as possible.

"And in the resolution of the European Parliament on the progress of Serbia, we invited the European Commission to immediately start the negotiations," she told Danas newspapers on the eve of today's vote on the final version of the resolution on Serbia's progress in European integration.

The Association of Judges: Judicial office is permanent; the political act does not negate it (Vecernje Novosti, KoSSev)

Judges in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija have constitutionally guaranteed permanence of judicial office. The judiciary must be organized in accordance with the Constitution of Serbia.

The court system forms part of a single legal order and must be organized in accordance with the Constitution of Serbia, said today the Judges Association of Serbia on the decision of the Constitutional Court to reject the proposal to review the constitutionality and legality of the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina in that field.  

KFOR continues to support and cooperate with the UN Mission in Kosovo (Kossev)

“KFOR will continue to support and cooperate with the United Nations, the European Union and other international actors. It will continue to support the Kosovo Police and EULEX,” said KFOR Commander, Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, during a meeting with the Ambassador of Bulgaria in Kosovo, Nedialtcho Dimitrov Dantchev, reported KFOR. 

Demolition of the church of Christ the Savior in Pristina would be crime against the civilization and religion (KoSSev)

Participants of at the International Conference dubbed “Human Dignity, Rights and Freedom: Christian Dimension’, which took place three days ago in Slovenia in organization of the International Fund of Orthodox Nations, have forwarded a written appeal to city authorities in Pristina requesting them to give up on intention to demolish the church of Christ the Savior in Pristina down-town.

EULEX to perform exhumation on the Muslim cemetery in Mitrovica (KoSSev)

EULEX units soon will start exhumation in the Muslim cemetery in Raska Potok, in northern Mitrovica, confirmed to KoSSev head of the regional operations of the Kosovo Police for the North, Zeljko Bojic. It is suspected that in the part of the location of this cemetery is buried a human body, the alleged victim of the war in Kosovo in 1999.

Gashi requests a ban on use of word ‘Metohija’ in the Kosovo Assembly (KoSSev)

MP in the Kosovo Assembly, member of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Arben Gashi, requested words ‘Kosovo and Metohija’ not to be used by Serbian MPs in the Kosovo Assembly, carried Kosovapress.

Gashi requested from the Assembly speaker Kadri Veseli to interrupt Serb MPs if they would use words ‘Kosovo and Metohija’ in the course of their address in the parliament. At his Facebook profile he also asked for disciplinary measures to be taken against MPs if using ‘unconstitutional’ terms in the parliament such as ‘Kosovo and Metohija’.

Displaced in Djakovica/Gjakova on 14 February (Kossev)

In a written reply to KoSSev, representative of the Association of Displaced from Djakovica/Gjakova, Simonida Ašanin, said that the next visit to Đakovica/Gjakova due to memorial service is planned for 14 February.

Displaced Serbs from this city, meanwhile, had a meeting with the US Ambassador in Kosovo, Tracey Ann Jacobson, as well as with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the UN in Kosovo, Jennifer Brush. As Ašanin added, talks with the subject of the rights of Serbs in Kosovo and in Djakovica/Gjakova are still ongoing.

Trepca or Jablanovic are not the reasons for the demonstration (Kossev)

Mayor of Gjakovica/Gjakova, Mimoza Kusari-Lila should apologize to displaced citizens of Djakovica/Djakova who were stoned.

It is the position of director of the Pristina Television Klan, Baton Haxhiu, who adds that the mayor should not be calling on Serbs not to come to Djakovica/Djakova on the upcoming memorial service.

He said in the TV show "Free Serbian", broadcasted on Serbian television network in Kosovo, that this message was "political and a big mistake of Mimoza Kusari".
