Samuel Zbogar: No more excuses for special court (Vecernje Novosti)

I see no valid reason for any further delay in forming the Special Court for crimes committed in Kosovo. The constitutional amendments are already in the assembly and the law is ready, this for Vecernje Novosti said Samuel Zbogar, EU Special Representative in Kosovo.

Is there a general political will to form the court?

Genocide lawsuit draws the attention from establishing the Court (Dailies)

“Pristina threatens with the lawsuit for genocide in order to divert attention from the establishment of the Special Court for terrorist KLA,” says the director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric. "One of the most bizarre ideas is that our southern province could sue our central authority for the crime of genocide. The people who promote that idea are unpunished actors of the war and are also part of the public life in Kosovo," said Djuric.

Lajcak: We owe opening of chapters to Serbia (Vecernje Novosti, Tanjug)

The fact that we have not opened even the first negotiation chapter with Serbia lends no credibility to the EU, says Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak.

We owe that not only to Serbia, but to ourselves as well, for the sake of the authenticity of the European integration process - the commissioner for enlargement talks, Johannes Hahn, also agrees with this, Lajcak was quoted as saying in Monday's issue of Vecernje Novosti ahead of a meeting of European leaders, to be held in Brussels late this month.

The Government of Serbia has not yet decided if  country will participate in the race for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, was said to Novosti. “The situation is still analyzing and discussing with our key international partners. It is still not known whether Serbia will participate, and whether support will be given to former foreign minister Vuk Jeremic, who is considered as the most serious candidate”, was said.

For Kosovo, Strasbourg is mission impossible (Vecernje Novosti)

Though Kosovo announced submission of the request for accession in the Council in Europe, for Pristina this task is still ‘bite off more than it can chew.’  Even some countries that have recognized Kosovo independence do not believe that Kosovo fulfils the basic criteria of the Rule of Law, in addition to the fact the procedure for accession to the CoE is so complicated that it might last several years.

Kosovo platform to be sent to MPs during summer (Vecernje Novosti, B92)

President Tomislav Nikolic's platform for Kosovo could be on the agenda of the national assembly at the earliest in late July or early August.

The daily Vecernje Novosti writes that "expert and political communities, but also leading national institutions will give their opinion on the proposal in order to achieve as broader a social consensus as possible before the final debate in parliament."
