Serbs in northern Kosovo will not allow the Kosovo Privatization Agency (KPA) to sell the property of 11 Serbian companies north of the Ibar River. When in January officially launched negotiations between Serbia and the European Union, the first intergovernmental conference in Brussels announced that our country will go the European way with steps of seven miles. However, six months since then, the pace of the negotiations taking place does not look very encouraging. Because, Serbia so far has not open any negotiation chapter. The procedure, however, requires a screening of the chapters, which can be a lengthy process.

The legal basis for the Community of Serbian municipalities (ZSO) in Kosovo will be established in the autumn, given that all the steps that lead to it will be carried out without a lot of political maneuvers. At first a new government in Pristina should be formed, so that its representatives, on a new round of dialogue in Brussels, could verify ZSO Statute. Then, the ZSO must be legally "covered" in the Kosovo parliament.  The whole calendar could easily be postponed by Brussels which is yet to select a successor of the High Representative, Catherine Ashton.

The recent decision of the Venice Commission to allow entry of Kosovo in its composition will have a series of symbolic as well as practical consequences, and precedents in the work of this institution, which has a strong influence in international relations. We examined what will change in the ‘treatment’ of the southern province within "the European Commission for Democracy through Law," and beyond.  By the admission of Kosovo a great precedent has been made, because so far all the members of the Venice Commission were - the states.

The only Serbian representative in the future Kosovo Assembly, who speaks Albanian language, is Nenad Rasic, the leader of Progressive Democratic Party (PDS). On the other side none of nine MPs from the Serbian List speak Albanian language. Since Serbian is an official language, when Albanian MPs will address the Assembly, Serbian MPs will have to listen simultaneous translation.

In the case of repeated elections in Kosovo, Serb representatives would have a better result. It could be proposed national and party list of candidates. If Albanian parties in Kosovo do not reach an agreement on a governing coalition, elections held on June 8 will be repeated, and such the outcome goes in favour of the Serbian List.

The largest number of votes in the elections for the parliament of Kosovo received lesser known Serbian candidates.
