Gračanica: None of the officials was arrested (B92)

Mayor of Gracanica Vladeta Kostic denied the information published in B92.net, stating that official of Gracanica Municipality is arrested.  As stated, allegations of the news agency Beta mentioning the statement of the spokesperson of the Kosovo Police are not true. "The allegations that have been published on the above mentioned website are not true. None of the officials of Gracanica Municipality was detained within the action of the Kosovo police. This kind of information can create the opposite effect and impair the reputation of Gracanica Municipality.

UNMIK: Violence has nothing to do with the exercise of the democratic right (RTK2, Politika, Vecernje Novosti, Blic, B92, TV Most, Tanjug, Kontakt Plus Radio, IRS)

The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in Kosovo, Farid Zarif, commended proportionate response of the police during yesterday unrest in Pristina, and said that democratic rights are not exercised through violence.

UNMIK expressed concern by the recent events in Pristina city centre. Such acts have nothing to do with the exercise of the democratic right to express legitimate grievances, stated UN mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).

Branimir Stojanovic, Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, said today during a meeting with some journalists, who were attacked on Saturday during a protest in Pristina, that he will do everything through legal mechanisms to stop these attacks on journalists.
