Veseli: There would be no change of borders, but I would like if Presevo and Medvedja would belong to us (Tanjug, RTS)

Kosovo Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli claims “there is no possibility to change the borders in the region,” however, he would “like it the most if municipalities in the south of central Serbia, Presevo and Medvedja belong to Kosovo, if Serbia would agree to it,” adding “that Kosovo has nothing to give to Serbia,” Tanjug news agency reported today, referring to TV T7.

Veseli who earlier threatened that “Kosovo borders would reach Nis” added that “opening of the border issue in the Balkans always meant war.”

Apostolova and Veseli urge MPs to ratify border agreement (media)

Head of the EU Office in Kosovo and Special Representative, Nataliya Apostolova, met today Kosovo Assembly President, Kadri Veseli, and the two made a call to MPs to support the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro tomorrow. Apostolova said two important steps were undertaken recently with regards to the border demarcation process: the joint statement of Kosovo and Montenegro presidents and the agreement between most parties to support the demarcation.

President of the Kosovo Assembly and leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Kadri Veseli, has welcomed the signing of a joint statement between President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, and President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanovic. In a Facebook post, Veseli said that the “reaching of national consensus” on ratification of border demarcation agreement is very good news. “On this independence jubilee, the isolation of the country ends and liberalisation road opens for our citizens,” Veseli wrote.

Veseli: We have sent the initiative for the Special Court to the government (RTK)

The President of the Assembly of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, said after the meeting of Assembly Presidency that he does not know when the agreement for demarcation of the border with Montenegro will reach the Assembly session for ratification, since the commission has not mentioned any date.

Speaking about the initiative for abrogating law on specialist chambers, Veseli said they have sent the matter to the government of Kosovo for review.

Veseli: We will continue dialogue with Serbia (RTK)

The President of the Assembly of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, said during the regional security conference “NATO and Western Balkans” that the dialogue with Serbia will continue in order to achieve  good neighborly relations. “We hope that Serbia will recognize Kosovo state in the future,” he said.

He also said that Kosovo Security Force will soon become and army allied with all NATO states.

EU expects Kosovo to implement visa liberalisation criteria (Koha)

The Director for Western Europe, Western Balkans and Turkey at the European External Action Service, Angelina Eichhorst, said in a meeting with the Kosovo Assembly President, Kadri Veseli, that the EU expects Kosovo to implement all visa liberalisation criteria and that it will provide support for Kosovo’s European perspective. Veseli on his part assured the EU official that new institutions are committed to fulfill the conditions enabling the people of Kosovo visa-free travel to Europe.

Veseli reelected President of the Assembly of Kosovo (media)

Kosovo Assembly MPs elected Kadri Veseli with 62 votes for, 52 against and no abstentions, for the President of the Assembly of Kosovo. This is Veseli’s second mandate as president of the legislative.

MPs also elected deputy presidents of the Assembly: Xhavit Haliti from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Aida Derguti from Vetevendosje Movement and Kujtim Shala from the Democratic league of Kosovo (LDK) and Alternativa coalition.

Hoxhaj: President of the Assembly to be voted on Thursday (Gazeta Express)

Deputy leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Enver Hoxhaj, expressed conviction that the Assembly of Kosovo will constitute next Thursday. He also said that there is no other candidate for the Assembly President except for Kadri Veseli. “Yes, That day we will propose the candidate for the President of the Assembly, Kadri Veseli, and candidates for deputy presidents of the Assembly, which means that constitution of the Assembly will happen,” Hoxhaj said.
