Kosovo platform to be sent to MPs during summer (Vecernje Novosti, B92)

President Tomislav Nikolic's platform for Kosovo could be on the agenda of the national assembly at the earliest in late July or early August.

The daily Vecernje Novosti writes that "expert and political communities, but also leading national institutions will give their opinion on the proposal in order to achieve as broader a social consensus as possible before the final debate in parliament."

Kosovo platform yet to be sent to government – minister (Beta, B92)

Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlovic has said that she "does not know what is written in President Tomislav Nikolic's platform on Kosovo."

"I'm not familiar with the content of the platform, or with whether the platform has arrived to the cabinet. When it does, we will sit down as a team and talk about it," she told reporters in Belgrade on Tuesday.

Mihajlovic spoke after the signing of an agreement on the continuation of the construction of the Zezelj Bridge in Novi Sad.

Citizens decide on preamble (Vecernje Novosti)

Even if the citizens of Serbia would decidein referendum to possibly change the preamble of the Constitution the territorial integrity of country would not be jeopardized, claim the members of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). However, they explained that change of the preamble is not a priority in the upcoming comprehensive reform of the political system.

Serbia won't recognize Kosovo, president reiterates (B92)

Tomislav Nikolic has told the Russian Interfax agency that the most important condition set before Serbia for joining the EU will be "to recognize Kosovo."

But the president added that this was a condition "that only slaves could accept."

Nikolic then stressed that Serbia "will not do that" because no nation in the world would accept such a condition.

Kosovo is Serbia's southern province where ethnic Albanians in 2008 unilaterally declared independence - a move that Serbia considers a violation of its territorial integrity.

Pak: Platform is internal affair of Belgrade (Danas)

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will meet tomorrow with European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy Johannes Hahn, who will be staying in Belgrade, but the topic of their talks will not be the platform on Kosovo prepared by the President. Advisor to the President, Stanislava Pak, said that the platform will be on the desk of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, "because it is an internal affair of Serbia". However, there was no the answer to the question when exactly the platform will be on the Prime Minister's "desk".

Platform on Kosovo will be presented to the government till Friday (Vecernje Novosti)

In coming days, President Tomislav Nikolic should send the draft platform on Kosovo to Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, and according to our information it will happen before his departure to Moscow. After discussion in the government, possibly amended platform will be sent to the Assembly for the further approval. However, it is questionable if platform will receive the support of opposition.

Prime Minister Vucic "doesn't know what to expect" from platform (Beta)

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Thursday said he "does not know what he can expect" from the announced platform of President Tomislav Nikolic.  

Nikolic said this week that he would send a draft of the platform to Vucic and the government after May 1, the Labor Day holiday.

Vucic added that Nikolic "knows about everything that is asked of Serbia on the road toward the European Union," and that he "does not hide what is talked with the EU," noting that "the topic is always Kosovo."
