PM: Serbia won't be "poor man of EU" (B92)

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic told the TV Pink broadcaster on Wednesday Serbia's membership in the EU was a strategic objective.

 

"The strategic goal is to become a member of the EU and in this field we do everything we can to make Serbia a well-ordered country, which when it becomes a member will not be even close to the poorest countries," said Vucic.

Nikolic: Proposed solution for KiM discussed with Vucic (Tanjug)

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said that he discussed the proposal for the long-term solution for Kosovo-Metohija with Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and that the document will be approved by both the prime minister and the president before it is forwarded to the government.

"We will both agree with the proposal before it is presented to the government, because it would be pointless to send any material from the President's office to the government with which Aleksandar Vucic would not agree completely," Nikolic told Belgrade-based Prva Television.

Too early to talk about solution for Kosovo (B92)

 Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said that it is "too early to talk about a comprehensive solution to the Kosovo and Metohija issue. He also added he was "in a constant contact with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic in this regard."

"There are countless interpretations of the Brussels agreement, and difficult talks in difficult conditions are ahead of us," Vucic said, commenting on the continuation of the EU-brokered dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina on the implementation of the agreement reached in Brussels on February 9.

The dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia will resume with the meeting between Isa Mustafa, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, and Aleksandar Vucic, the Prime Minister of Serbia, in Brussels on 8-9 February. The establishment of the Association/Community of Serb-majority Municipalities is expected to be the main topic of the meeting. According to Belgrade-based Vecernje Novosti, the two prime ministers will also discuss the properties of Serbs in Kosovo, creation of conditions for IDP returns and the judiciary.

PM "understands what president understood" (B92)

ROME -- Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has said that he "never received from the EU as an official condition" Serbia's recognition of Kosovo.

"Serbia not giving up either on EU or territorial integrity" (B92,Tanjug)

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday that Serbia "does not give up on its European path or its territorial integrity."

"Serbia is trying to pursue a responsible policy, a policy in the interest of the people," said Vucic when asked to comment on President Tomislav Nikolic's position that recognition of Kosovo will be EU's condition.
