Jevtic asks Turkish support for economic projects (Politika)

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communities and Returns, Dalibor Jevtic spoke with the Turkish Ambassador in Pristina, Kıvılcım Kılıç on possible financial support from the Government of Turkey to economic projects that would significantly help Serbs and other non-majority communities in Kosovo and create new employment opportunities, Poliitka daily reported, quoting the Ministry’s statement.

Russian Minister Says Hague Tribunal ‘Should Be Closed’ (BIRN)

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the UN war crimes tribunal for the former Yugoslavia should have been shut down long ago because it is biased against Serbs.

Sergey Lavrov said on Monday that that the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, ICTY, should have been shut down because it has “proved its bias and one-sidedness”, Russian news outlet Sputnik reported.

Bishop Irinej: Maximum compromise is already offered (Tanjug, Blic)

The Bishop of Backa Eparchy and the Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC) Spokesperson, Irinej Bulovic said that the invitation for internal dialogue on Kosovo and Metohija is „fully appropriate and useful“ expressing belief that the stance of the SOC would be not to offer additional concessions to Pristina, since „the maxim compromise from the Serbian side is already offered,“ Tanjug news agency reported.

Speaking for Radio Belgrade first programme broadcast “Sedmica” Bishop Irinej said that the issue of Kosovo is a “Gordian knot” requiring “essential and nationwide” response.

Pavlopoulos: Albania undermines its path to the EU over its relations with Pristina (Blic, ANA, RTS)

Daily Blic reports that Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos said that Albania undermines its own process of joining the European Union with "attitudes of international opportunism, as seen in relations between Tirana and Pristina," and said that Greece would not remain with "folded hands" before such actions.

Pavlopoulos sent a message to Albania from Corfu Island, where he attended a commemoration in honour of the first governor of modern Greece, Ioannis Kapodistrias, ANA reports.

Tanaskovic: USA will support Pristina from shadow (Tanjug, Blic)

If request for Kosovo’s accession to UNESCO becomes the topic again, USA would support it from the shadow, through other states it has close ties with, said the Serbian Ambassador to UNESCO, Darko Tanaskovic, Serbian media reported.

Tanaskovic, also said that the withdrawal of USA from UNESCO in any case does not go in favour of eventual new requests from the provisional institutions in Pristina.

Brnabic: I plan to visit Kosovo (Beta, Blic)

Serbian Prime Minister, Ana Brnabic, said on Friday she plans to visit Kosovo, Serbian media reported.

In a statement to TV Prva, while presenting the work of the government for the first 100 days, Brnabic mentioned this possibility without giving precise date.

The PM Brnabic, also mentioned that Brussels has welcomed an internal dialogue on Kosovo, Serbian President Vucic initiated, adding it was assessed as an indicator of a responsible and brave politics, Serbian media reported.

Ljajić: Turkey's relations with Kosovo and Albania worsened (NMagazin, RTV)

Serbian Minister of Trade Rasim Ljajić said yesterday in the show ''Pravi Ugao'' of the Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV) that he does not know whether during the visit of President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Serbia, the topic of Kosovo was discussed.

"Turkey's relations with Kosovo and Albania are not as they were several years ago," said Ljajić for Radio-Television of Vojvodina, adding that the situation has changed drastically since the coup attempt in Turkey on July 15 last year.

Delawie and Todosijevic on elections, ZSO and minorities (KIM Radio)

USA Ambassador in Pristina, Greg Delawie and Minister of Administration and Local Self- Governance, Ivan Todosijevic spoke yesterday about the situation of non-majority communities in Kosovo and implementation of the Brussels agreement, KIM Radio reported.

The two officials also spoke about the forthcoming Kosovo local elections. Todosijevic highlighted the importance of establishing the Association of the Serb Municipalities, and implantation of agreements that are not yet fully implemented.

Balkan Barometer: Kosovars concerned with corruption and unemployment (Prishtina Insight)

The 2017 Balkan Barometer public perception report for Southeast Europe shows that Kosovo ranks highest in the region for optimistic outlook and trust in the Ombudsperson.

Of the seven Southeastern European countries, Kosovo’s population continues to have the most optimistic economic outlook, despite an increasing pessimism regarding the possibility that EU accession is just over the horizon, according to the new Balkan Barometer report.

Vucic: Important that NATO remains status neutral in Kosovo (Politika)

President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic and NATO Deputy Secretary General, Rose Gottemoeller spoke in Belgrade yesterday about mutual political dialogue, practical co-operation and forthcoming meeting between the Serbian President and the NATO Secretary General, Politika daily reported.
