Drecun: Vote of opponents to Kosovo independence of utmost importance (KIM Radio)

The chairperson of the Serbian parliament’s Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun, said today that it is of utmost importance that states opposed to Kosovo’s independence are present at forthcoming UNESCO General Conference and vote when decision is made about Kosovo’s membership in that organization. According to Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, voting over Kosovo’s membership in UNESCO should take place around 9th November.

Rašić: I expect EU’s pressure on Pristina (KIM Radio)

MP from the ranks of the Serbian List in the Kosovo parliament Nenad Rašić said that he expects EU to exert pressure on Pristina due to sending the agreement on Association/Community of Serb municipalities for assessment by the Constitutional Court, and added that certain ‘anonymous’ EU representatives said in media that even Stabilization and Association Agreement could be called into question.

Why SAA for Kosovo was not celebrated (Koha Ditore)

The paper’s Brussels-based correspondent, Augustin Palokaj comments on the recently signed Stabilization Association Agreement between the EU and Kosovo. According to him, the EU has intentionally held the signing of this agreement without any notable ceremony as differently from the other countries, as if it feared the countries that have not recognized Kosovo and Serbia. He notes that apart from the content of the SAA for Kosovo which differs from those of the other countries, the manner in which the Agreement was signed differs as well.

Campaign #NoKosovoUnesco started (Danas)

The official YouTube channel of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic published a video "The truth about the destruction of Serbian cultural heritage in Kosovo and Metohija", which has launched the campaign #NoKosovoUnesco.

The description of the video states: "The four pearls of world heritage: the Monastery of Decani, the Pec Patriarchate, Gracanica and the Church of Holy Virgin of Ljevisa are still on the list of UNESCO, and are in danger. Those who seek admission to UNESCO are those who have exposed them to danger".

Government sends SAA to the Assembly (Kosovapress)

The government of Kosovo discussed in its meeting today the draft law for ratification of the Stabilization Association Agreement between Kosovo and the European Union. The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said that they are submitting the SAA draft law to the Assembly in order to be proceeded as soon as possible and for Kosovo to move faster in the integrating processes.

Maric: Mild reaction of the EU (RTS)

The coordinator of the steering team for creation of the Association/Community of Serb municipalities (A/CSM), Ljubomir Maric, said to Radio Television Serbia that he is worried with the fact that decision on postponement of the creation of the A/CSM is made without consultations with Serbs, to whom agreement refers, and opines that this bears another message which is not good. Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga two days ago called Kosovo Constitutional Court to examine constitutionality of the agreement on A/CSM.
