President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and Greek Prime Minister Kyroys Mitsotakis agreed in New York that two nations had a sincere friendship and discussed bilateral relations, the situation in the region and Belgrade’s road to the European Union, the Beta news agency reported on Tuesday.

Vucic asked Mitsotakis not to change the Greek stand towards Kosovo independence, a statement from the President’s office said.

Immediately upon arrival, Vucic will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic commented on Vojislav Kostunica's proposal that the status of Kosovo could be solved by the Hong Kong model.

"I have great respect for our presidents, Boris Tadic, Vojsilav Kostunica and Tomislav Nikolic, respectively. I have a question for you - what does it mean exactly - a Hong Kong model? Who will accept this from Albanians, who have declared independence during your and Tadic's term of office? Why didn't you accept it back then?", Vucic asked at a news conference.

Former President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica stated that he had a proposal for solution of Kosovo issue.

He said that it was based on a Hong Kong model.

He claims that it would be a compromise that would rule out all the extreme options and prove to be successful, sustainable and functional.

Serbian opposition leader Dragan Djilas told reporters on Thursday that his Party of Freedom and Justice has a plan for Kosovo which does not include President Aleksandar Vucic and his partners in Pristina.

Negotiations on Kosovo in the future "likely to be in troika form" in Brussels, diplomats from EU headquarters told Belgrade based daily Danas.

As they explain, this implies that "in addition to representatives of Belgrade and Pristina, the United States Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Matthew Palmer, the EU Special Envoy for those negotiations, and one of the OSCE-like representatives would be found at the negotiating table."

Kosovo Football Association Secretary Erol Salihu said on Thursday that he asked the Kosovo police and customs service to prevent the Red Star Belgrade football team from entering Kosovo next week, the KoSSev news portal reported.

The Red Star team are scheduled to play a Serbia Cup game against the Trepca team in North Mitrovica on September 25.

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric said today at a meeting with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and Head of the UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) Zahir Tanin that the United Nations has an inevitable role in the process of resolving Belgrade-Pristina relations.

US Senator Chris Murphy believes that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is willing to recognize Kosovo but is angry over the 100 percent tariffs imposed by Pristina on goods from Serbia.

Regional broadcaster N1 reported that Republican Senator Ron Johnson wrote on his blog about his recent visit to Belgrade, saying:

A press release from the president’s cabinet quoted Vucic as saying that a need exists to quickly establish contact if security in jeopardized in the north of Kosovo.
