"Only America interested in Kosovo, Merkel is dropping out" (VoA, B92)

Donald Trump's administration does not have much time for the Balkans. This is according to Daniel Hamilton, an expert at the School for Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.

According to Voice of America, this prominent connoisseur of European circumstances, is also not convinced that Washington, and even the European capitals will make enough effort to speed up the process of Euro-Atlantic integration of the remaining Western Balkan countries.

Trepca statute legally void from international law aspect (Tanjug)

Republic of Serbia in no way must give up on the fight for Trepca mining complex, which from international law aspect is property of Serbia, International Law Professor, Bojan Milisavljevic told Tanjug news agency, adding that Kosovo is not internationally recognized subject, since it is neither a member of the UN nor of UN specialized agencies.

He also noted from the legal aspect, recently adopted Trepca statute must be treated as null and void, since it runs contrary to all international standards that guarantee the right to property.

Jevtic met Palmer in Washington (BETA)

Deputy Assistant US Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia, Matthew Palmer met with outgoing Kosovo Minister for Communities and Returns Dalibor Jevtic in Washington, BETA news agency reported.

Palmer said Pristina’s decision on tariffs on goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina must be suspended in order to open a way to the dialogue.

As the press announcement from Jevtic’s cabinet noted, Palmer said it is an official US position.   

"Killings of reporters in Kosovo must be investigated" (B92)

The Serbian Commission Investigating Murders of Journalists on Monday urged the Specialist Chambers for crimes committed by the so-called KLA to be investigated.

The killing and kidnapping of journalists in Kosovo in the period from 1998 to 2000, the period that encompasses the mandate of the Specialist Chambers for KLA crimes must be the topic of the investigation of the Specialist Prosecutor's Office and prosecuted at the Specialist Chambers.

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said that a lasting solution in Belgrade-Pristina dialogue should be reached as soon as possible, since a change in the international relations might occur, BETA news agency reports.

“It is necessary to speed up the dialogue, reach a lasting solution, do not waste time, and for the Serbian interests it would be good to end this process as soon as possible, since international relations might change, Dacic said during the news conference with Dominican Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.

Pacolli reportedly makes open death threat against Dacic (Tanjug, Kurir, B92)

Behgjet Pacolli reportedly has made an open death threat directed at Serbian First Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, Tanjug news agency reports citing a report in the Belgrade-based tabloid Kurir, which said the incident happened during an informal EU ministerial meeting in Bucharest, Romania, over the weekend.

According to this media report, Pacolli, who serves as Foreign Minister in the Pristina government, spoke "without restraint, and in Serbian," when he addressed Dacic to say: "If there should be an assassination, you should know it's us Albanians."
