Serbian List MPs have decided to return to the Assembly of Kosovo, confirmed the leader of the Serbian List, Slavko Simic.

He said that the decision was made “in accordance with the interest of Serbian population, respectively the Serbian community that lives in Kosovo and the citizens who live in Kosovo.”

Slavko Simic, leader of the Serbian List which today decided to end its six-month boycott of Kosovo institutions, said at the meeting of the Kosovo Assembly presidency that they are ready to vote in favour of the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro. This, said Simic, would be done “for the sake of the citizens so that they don’t remain isolated.”

Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director Marko Djuric has said that representatives of the Serb (Srpska) List are returning to the Kosovo Assembly.

Djuric told Serbia's state broadcaster RTS that he respects their decision to "actively oppose the establishment of a Kosovo army, despite difficult political circumstances."

Kosovo’s Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports, Rexhep Hoti, said that the decision of the Serbian List to return to Kosovo institutions is part of an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. Hoti said Kosovo agreed to the Secretary General of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office of the Western Balkans (RYCO) being appointed by Serbia in exchange for the return of the Serbian List. “This is the truth of the matter in question,” Hoti said. “Of course, all this agreement would not have been possible without the direct contribution of Germany,” he added.

Marko Djuric, head of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo, said today he respects the decision of the Serbian List to return to the Kosovo Assembly. “We know that Albanian representatives have their justifications for the anti-constitutional formation of the army. But this cannot happen, because Serb representatives are not returning to the Kosovo Assembly for the army.

Kosovo Assembly MP from the Serbian List, Nenad Rasic said since PDK and LDK did not respect the agreement, the best thing would have been to bring down the government. “Perhaps this was our greatest defeat, because we did not manage to implement this policy in the field. We are now dealing with utopic politics, because we are not producing anything good for the citizens, and if we do it, that is too little and it only brings concern and major dissatisfaction,” Rasic said.

Minister of the Kosovo Security Force, Haki Demolli, said that the Serbian List refused 18 requests to meet with the cabinet of the KSF Minister. “From April to July 2016, our cabinet sent around 18 invitations, be them by e-mail, written and different invitations. We have sent the invitation to ministers as well as to the Kosovo Assembly MPs from the Serbian List, in order to discuss the possibility of an agreement for their vote on constitutional mandates. We have never received a positive reply.

Kosovo Assembly’s Serbian MP, Nenad Rasic said today that Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci and people of the political scene in Kosovo, appear to have lost their way.

“No one from the PDK-LDK coalition has discussed with the Serbian List about the army,” Rasic said.

President of the Serbian List Slavko Simić says that the decision of the Kosovo's government should be revoked immediately, by which all immovable property of Yugoslavia (SFRJ), Serbia and AP Kosovo and Metohija will be registered as property of Kosovo.

Kosovo Assembly MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, said at the round-table organized by Kosovar Centre for Security Studies, that Kosovo cannot wait for Serbia to change its rhetoric with regards to the independence of Kosovo.
