Vulin and Chepurin on security situation and cooperation (RTS, Tanjug)

Serbian Minister of Defense, Aleksandar Vulin met with the Russian Federation Ambassador to Serbia, Alexander Chepurin and discussed the current security situation as well as advancement of cooperation in the field of security, RTS reports.

Minister Vulin thanked the Russian Federation for the full support to Serbia’s efforts to point out to the illegal establishment of the so-called Kosovo army at the UN SC session, and request to disarm this illegal, armed formation in Kosovo and Metohija.

Peace in the Balkans is not in as much danger as it was in the 1990s but there are risks of instability, dissatisfaction and minor conflicts, Johns Hopkins University professor Daniel Serwer told regional broadcaster N1 on Tuesday.

He believes there is no direct threat to peace in the region, adding that Kosovo has had Security Forces for a while and that it will take 10 years to turn those forces into a military.

Patriarch Irinej supports Vucic: Kosovo army directed against Kosovo Serbs (KoSSev)

Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej issued a statement on Kosovo army, KoSSev portal reports. The statement can be read below:

“The Serbian Orthodox Church has no doubt that this army is exclusively directed against the Serbian people who boldly practice their faith in Kosovo and Metohija and are proud of the Serbian name. We also know that the formation of this army is also directed against the ancient Serbian Orthodox sanctities in Kosovo and Metohija, which the enemies of the Church of God intend to destroy or, at least, take away.

Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin said on Monday that the European Union should halt the visa liberalization process for citizens of Kosovo, if Pristina fails to revoke the 100 percent tariffs on Serbian goods.

Vulin told RTS that the EU should change its policy towards Kosovo from carrot to stick, adding that Pristina was always rewarded for what he said was bad behavior. He said the EU should halt the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement and prevent the free movement of Kosovo officials.
