Serbian president asks China for help (B92, Tanjug)

Aleksandar Vucic informed Chinese Ambassador Li Manchang about "the danger of the announced formation of the army of the so-called Kosovo on December 14."

Vucic asked Li to, as a friend of Serbia, "regularly report to the Chinese leadership on the development of the situation in Kosovo and Metohija," the Serbian president's cabinet said in a press release on Tuesday.

The announcement of the formation of the Kosovo army is the biggest threat to peace and security in the region so far, said Marko Djuric, director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, reports Radio Television of Serbia (RTS).

"The establishment of this illegal formation would jeopardize everything that have been achieved so far in the process of normalizing the relations between Belgrade and Pristina," said Marko Djuric.

A NATO official on "Kosovo Army" (B92, TV Prva)

NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs James Appathurai told Belgrade based TV Prva that at this moment NATO provides advisory support to the Kosovo Security Force, not to any potential new army.

"Although the Kosovo authorities are heading towards this, then that is something that we will have to follow very carefully," Appathurai says.

Djuric: Kosovo army goes contrary to wish for normal relations (RTS)

Any idea of forming so-called Kosovo army goes contrary to the both, law and the wish to have normal relations in Kosovo and in the region, Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric said, RTS reports.

Marko Djuric made this statement in Stara Planina (Old Mountain) where he was visiting children from Kosovo and Metohija staying there. He recalled that UN SC Resolution 1244 and Kumanovo Military-Technical Agreement clearly stipulate that only KFOR, and with approval of KFOR Commander the Army of Serbia, can be in Kosovo.

Drecun: Nasim Haradinaj best argument against Kosovo army (RTS)

Chairman of the Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun told RTS that the statement of Nasim Haradinaj, who said he was killing Serb soldiers whenever he could and that he regrets of not killing as many as he wanted, is scandalous and serves as the best evidence why Kosovo army should not be formed.

Speaking for the RTS morning news edition, Drecun said this indicates the absence of progress in Kosovo and Metohija, that there is no progress in the functioning of the institutions and in prosecuting those who have committed war crimes.

Vucic says "Kosovo army will be formed on Nov. 28" (B92)

Aleksandar Vucic has reportedly said that he "has information about the date when the Kosovo army will be formed."

The president made the comment on Tuesday in Belgrade, during his meeting with representatives of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija.

B92 has learned that Vucic said an army would be formed in Kosovo "on November 28, Albanian Flag Day."

Vulin: “Kosovo army” can disturb entire Balkans (Tanjug, B92)

Serbia is resolutely opposing forming of not only an army, but paramilitary formation in Kosovo, since it cannot be an army, Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin told Tanjug news agency.

“In order to have an army, you should be a state first, and as we know Kosovo is a territory under UN administration in line with Resolution 1244, therefore, there can be no other armed forces but KFOR,” Vulin told the media.
