Thaci: No one can place veto on KSF transformation (Klan Kosova)

President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said on the occasion of the Kosovo Liberation Army Epopee that the Kosovo Security Force is respected worldwide its professionalism makes it deserving to transform into Kosovo army. “We want and we believe that KSF transformation will happen through constitutional changes but I will not allow anyone put veto on our legitimate right,” Thaci said. “I am confident that Kosovo Armed Forces will be a joint value of all of us, representing the ethnic character of this country and our society.”

Rama: KSF ready for transformation (Kosovapress)

Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), Rrahman Rama, said at the Kosovo Assembly’s committee for internal affairs and security that the KSF is ready to transform into an armed force whenever the political decision is taken. Rama said that there is no tendency to build a force that would present a threat to someone else but, rather, a force that will serve the interests of everyone. Answering to a question from the committee members, Rama explained that 8 percent of KSF members are women and that 10.2 percent are members of minority communities.

KSF announced talks on transformation into the army (RTK2)

The Ministry of the Security Forces will begin intensive talks with Serbian political representatives in order to reach a concrete agreement on the future of KSF, says Minister Rustem Berisha, reports RTK2.

He says that the goal, of the meeting with the MPs of the Serbian List and its leaders, is to provide a consensus for the transformation of KSF into the armed forces, and through constitutional changes.

Agim Ceku: If I need to, I will defend myself before the Special Court (KIM radio)

Former KLA commander and Deputy Minister of the Security Forces of Kosovo Agim Ceku told RTV Kim in the TV Show ''Dogovor!?'' that he is ready to defend himself before the Special Court, in case he would be one of the war crimes suspects, reports KIM radio portal.

Agim Ceku is just one of the Albanian officials mentioned by media in Kosovo and Serbia as potential suspect before the court, reports KIM radio.

Agim Ceku: There are talks with the Serbian List about the Kosovo Army; there is a shift (KIM radio)

Deputy Minister of Security Forces of Kosovo Agim Ceku told RTV KiM that the talks with the Serbian List are being conducted about the transformation of the KSF into the Kosovo Army, and the possible support of this List to changes of the constitution that is necessary for the transformation.

Ceku, who emphasizes that he is not a direct participant in those talks, says he has the knowledge that there are currently talks with everyone in the Serbian list.

Hoxhaj: Consolidation of Kosovo army not before 2028 (Klan Kosova)

The Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy leader and MP, Enver Hoxhaj, said the Kosovo Security Force needs to be transformed into an armed force next year but that Kosovo will not have a “genuine” army before 2028. “If the decision on KSF transformation is taken in 2018, we will have a genuine army only in 2028,” Hoxhaj said adding: “This is because how long it will take for consolidating into a genuine army.”

Veseli: We will continue dialogue with Serbia (RTK)

The President of the Assembly of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, said during the regional security conference “NATO and Western Balkans” that the dialogue with Serbia will continue in order to achieve  good neighborly relations. “We hope that Serbia will recognize Kosovo state in the future,” he said.

He also said that Kosovo Security Force will soon become and army allied with all NATO states.

Shala: "We sit together in the Assembly, why not a joint army?" (RTK2)

Advisor to the Kosovo President Blerim Shala told the RTK2, (the Show "Poglavlje" (Chapter)), that "the momentum of the historic agreement between Kosovo and Serbia must be defined," and that there must be a time limit for the talks.

"In principle, we have to agree that something that remained, we have to end once and for all".

Discussing the transformation of the Kosovo Security Forces into an army with civil society activists, Kosovo President remained resolute on the initiative.

"Regardless of how the process of transforming the Kosovo Security Forces to the Kosovo Armed Forces happens, whether through legal or constitutional changes, it is a legal and constitutional process that cannot be stopped by anyone,” said Kosovo President Hashim Thaci on Wednesday. “Let me be clear: no one can veto this process.”
