Tahiri: Violence has damaged Kosovo (Bota Sot)

Kosovo’s Minister without portfolio and President of Regional Women's Lobby (RWL), participated in the "Women of Kosovo work together for European integration” regional conference organized by RWL, the Finish Embassy and supported by UN WOMEN. In her opening remarks, Tahiri said the role of women is on the rise and that women contribute to the development and democratization of society at national, regional and global levels. But according to Tahiri, the role of women in decision-making and peace processes is not yet at the right level.

Kosovo’s Minister without portfolio, Edita Tahiri, said yesterday that the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities will not be established without the removal of all parallel structures in Kosovo. She said at the time when the relevant authorities will start drafting the statute of the Association/Community, technical groups of Kosovo and Serbia will start working in Brussels in order to reach an agreement to completely remove Serbia's parallel structures in Kosovo.

The conference was attended by representatives of governments and civil society of the countries of Europe and Central Asia that are committed to the women’s agenda for peace and security.

Implementation of agreement with Serbia on diploma recognition to begin on 1 March (Koha)

Delegations of Kosovo and Serbia, facilitated by the European Union, agreed last week in Brussels to begin implementing the agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas on 1 March. Kosovo’s minister without portfolio and head negotiator Edita Tahiri said the present agreement is broader than that of 2011 as it includes mutual recognition of diplomas of all levels of education.

EU confirms: Kosovo has applied for new state telephone code (Telegrafi)

The European Union today confirmed a statement issued by Kosovo’s Minister for Dialogue Edita Tahiri, who said that Austria has applied with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) for Kosovo to receive a country code in line with the Brussels agreement. Angelina Eichhorst, the Director for Western Europe, Western Balkans & Turkey at European External Action Service, wrote on her Twitter account today confirming the information.

Tahiri: Austria has applied for Kosovo’s dialing prefix (RTK)

Kosovo’s minister without portfolio and chief negotiator in the dialogue with Belgrade, Edita Tahiri, said Austria has officially applied with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for a dialing prefix for Kosovo. She said that Kosovo’s prefix will be 383. Tahiri thanked the Austrian government for its efforts in enabling Kosovo to have its own international prefix. The ITU, according to Tahiri, is now expected to grant Kosovo its prefix by early March.
