The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said at the press conference after today’s meeting of the government, that the government has approved the decision for establishment of the commission for Trepca draft law.

He said that the commission for Trepca will continuously report to the government about its work and according to him this is the first step towards the fulfillment of promises for the long term solution to Trepca’s statute.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, appealed today once again to the opposition parties to return to the Assembly and dialogue for the problems that concern them. During today’s meeting of the government, Mustafa said that certain opposition parties should give up violence and discourse that embeds hatred. “It is in the interest of the country for us to work, improve the lives of citizens. They should renounce from violence and attacks of buildings and of police.

The government of Kosovo in its routine meeting today approved a regulation on reintegration of repatriated persons and management of the reintegration program. The regulation is part of the visa liberalization roadmap and is aimed at supporting sustainable reintegration of the persons repatriated in Kosovo. It also identified the relevant decision-making, implementing, and coordinating authorities and determined the criteria for benefits and assistance that the repatriated persons are entitled to.

The government of Kosovo issued a press release where it stresses that violent and illegal actions over citizens, public or private property, Kosovar or foreign businesses, for political profit, are unacceptable. “Such violent acts in contradiction with any democratic value cannot be used as means of political propaganda, no matter explanations or justifications given for them.

The recently elected president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, said in an interview for Tribuna Channel that he would not return to the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) after conclusion of his mandate as president. He added that his return would not be healthy for democracy. According to him, it would not be good to return from the position of president to the party or to create a new one. “Return to the party, establishment of a new party or return at an executive level, are closed processes for me,” Thaci said.

The Office of the Prime Minister confirmed that Valon Murtezaj has been nominated for the position of Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs. “The decision for Murtezaj’s nomination has already been made and he will start work at the Ministry this week,” according to a statement by the Office of the Prime Minister.

Valon Murtezaj said in several public appearances that he is a university professor in Paris, where he teaches subjects related to diplomacy and negotiation.

Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Hashim Thaci reacted harshly to the burning of Minister for Agriculture, Memly Krasniqi's family vehicle. He wrote on his Facebook page that this attack has clear political motives which openly violate pluralism, freedom of expression and opinion. “With deep indignation, I harshly condemn the ugly act of burning Memli Krasniqi’s family vehicle last night. This ugly act aims at terrorizing Krasniqi's family and blackmailing Minister Krasniqi into withdrawing his political positions.
