Djuric: Decision to deny Serbs right to vote, attempt to erase them from Kosovo (Kosovo-online portal)

Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director Marko Djuric said today decision of the Central Election Commission in Pristina to deny right to Serbs to cast the vote with Serbian ID cards, respectively, with valid personal documents runs contrary to the applicable laws that Pristina made itself and represents an attempt to politically “erase the Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija,” with an administrative instruction, Kosovo-online portal reports.

Serbian List complains to embassies over decision of Kosovo CEC (Serbian media)

Representatives of the Serbian List have protested the decision of the Central Election Commission to prevent voters from voting with Serbian documents in early parliamentary elections in Kosovo on October 6, reported all Serbian media.

The Serbian List sent letters to the international missions in Pristina because of the CEC decision, saying that it was a violation of the law and asked to rectify this unilateral decision.

The opposition Alliance for Serbia (SzS) said today it will not take part “in the fake elections in Kosovo and Metohija, same as in the rest of Serbia,” KoSSev portal reports today.

The Alliance further said that in Kosovo “there were neither minimal conditions for free and fair elections, nor for equal presentation of the programe and ideas”.

SzS added “that blackmails, violence, threats and hunt by the SNS (Serbian Progressive Party) regime in Kosovo and Metohija serve only to prolong the keeping of our people in a position of a hostage of the two criminal groups”.

Serb member of CEC left session in protest over documents (N1, BETA)

A member of Kosovo Central Election Commission (CEC) Stevan Veselinovic left the CEC session after it decided that all documents of the voters in the early parliamentary elections on October 6 had to be issued by Pristina, BETA news agency reports on Tuesday.

Veselinovic said that such a move violated the law and electoral rules which CEC should implement.

“The decision violets Election Law’s article 90 and Election Rules article 16 which stipulate that during the vote, all valid IDs can be used except the drivers’ licenses which must be issued in Kosovo,” he added.
