Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic voiced satisfaction on Tuesday with the excellent cooperation with the Greek Embassy as NATO contact point in Belgrade in promoting the partnership between Serbia and the Alliance.

The minister expects that cooperation to continue with the Norwegian embassy which took over as contact point at Tuesday’s ceremony.

Ivica Dacic, the chief of Serbia's diplomacy, said on Wednesday he had invited Mike Pompeo, the US Secretary of State, to visit Serbia, the Beta news agency quoted his Ministry’s statement as saying.

Ivica Dacic says that Serbia will in 2019 certainly intensively deal with the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, and "probably in a different format than until now."

"No one can say - we will solve Kosovo and Metohija next year, at least no serious politician in our country and abroad. As far as I'm concerned, I would like to have an agreement and a solution tomorrow, but that's not realistic, many more things need to fall into place," the foreign minister told the weekly Nedeljnik.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has sent holiday greetings to First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic.

In his message dated December 21, Lavrov said that Moscow is ready for further close cooperation "on the Kosovo issue."
The Foreign Ministry announced in a press release late on Tuesday that Dacic was presented with Lavrov's New Year and Christmas (to be celebrated in Serbia and Russia on January 7) message during a meeting in Belgrade with Russian Ambassador Aleksandr Chepurin.

Dacic added, speaking on Monday, that this agreement that had been reached with NATO should be translated into a directive that everyone in the field should respect - "in order to avoid a situation that would trigger major problems in Kosovo and Metohija."

Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has assessed that Pristina cannot join any international organizations until it has reached an agreement with Belgrade.

As he said, Pristina cannot do this, regardless of who is standing behind it.

Speaking for Radio-Television of Vojvodina late on Tuesday, Dacic said Pristina today does not have a simple, let alone a two-thirds majority, required for membership in certain organizations.

Minister Ivica Dacic told RTS that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, at the session of the UNSC, presented the genesis of the problems that Serbia faces, readiness for dialogue and a constructive approach, and on the other hand a clear opposition to the unilateral moves of Pristina to which they were used to in the past 20 years.

RTS reports that Serbia will seek today the holding of an urgent session of the UN Security Council due to the worst violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1244 by the Pristina's decision to form a Kosovo army, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said.

"This is the most direct threat to peace and stability in the region and the security of the Serbian people living in Kosovo and Metohija," Ivica Dacic told Tanjug.

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic announced on Wednesday that he expected another country to withdraw its recognition of Kosovo.

B92 later learned, and it has in the meantime been confirmed, that recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo has been withdrawn by the Union of the Comoros - a small island state in the Indian Ocean that recognized Kosovo in 20009.

Previously, Dacic said that Pristina is describing the withdrawals of Kosovo's recognition as lies and defamation, because it "hurts."

Serbia will not lodge a protest with France over the displaying of the flag of Kosovo at the Notre-Dame cathedral, said Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic.

Dacic explained the absence of any official reaction of Belgrade by the announced visit to Serbia by the French president.
"Bearing in mind the upcoming visit by Emmanuel Macron, the first visit of a French president to Serbia after 18 years, it is my opinion is that this should be left for discussion," Dacic told Belgrade-based daily Politika.
