Thaci at Gazivode Lake and Brnjak, drama in Belgrade: What happened? (KoSSev)

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, unexpectedly and swiftly visited the Gazivode Lake and Brnjak crossing in north of Kosovo on Saturday, KoSSev portal reports.

Escorted by an entourage of around 20 police and civilian vehicles, armed security officers, and accompanied by his Intelligence Agency and Kosovo Police heads, he addressed the public from almost the same spot at the dam where his Serbian counterpart recently spoke as well.

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic assessed the event on the Gazivode lake as a provocation that represents continuation of everything that took place over the last couple of months, Serbian media reported on Sunday.

Commenting on Kosovo President Hashim Thaci visit to Gazivode lake, escorted by Kosovo special police members, Dacic told Prva TV, “he does not believe that Thaci had tourism desire.”

Dacic added “that such situation destroys hardly achieved stability.”

Artificial lake and hydro-plant “Gazivode” are of strategic importance for survival and future of Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija, and together with “Trepca” and power station “Valac” are strategically important to Serbia as a whole, mayor of Zubin Potok municipality, Stevan Vulovic told RTS.

Mayor Vulovic is convinced Serbia would manage to preserve it as its own property.
