The president of the Coalition of IDPs from Kosovo and Metohija Milos Stojković called on all displaced persons to support the Serbian list in the local elections and to vote in the places where they have the right to vote.

Collective centers in Brezovica, placed in the hotel Lahor Junior, the so called SUP Villa and Electro Kosovo, in which displaced Serbs from Kosovo live, are without electricity since Monday, Roksanda Jevtić, one of the displaced persons stated to KosSev portal.

Inhabitants include a number of old and helpless people, children as well as secondary school students.

The Head of UNHCR mission in Kosovo, Narasimha Rao, said that "today we recognize the suffering of all those who had to flee in order to save their lives. Over 65 million people are either refugees or displaced persons.

"In Kosovo, we work together with Kosovo authorities, civil society and others to ensure that those who want to return to their homes can do it safely and with dignity," Rao said.

Minister of Administration and Local Self-Government in Kosovo Ljubomir Marić was dismissed by the decision of Isa Mustafa, on a proposal from representatives of the Serbian List, say sources close to the Pristina authorities, reports portal KomentarPress.net.

On the other hand, the authorities in Belgrade say Ljubomir Marić was dismissed against the wishes of Serbian representative in Kosovo.

Office for Kosovo and Metohija and the EU Delegation in Serbia are organizing a  conference on "Free legal assistance for internally displaced persons from Kosovo and Metohija". The conference will take place at the Palace of Serbia.

The rate of sustainable return of internally displaced persons to Kosovo-Metohija is the lowest among all post-conflict regions around the world, amounting to a mere 1.9 pct, the head of the government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Marko Djuric said Monday.

At a meeting with Nancy Izzo Jackson, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the US Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, Djuric expressed regret over a failure to include the return of IDPs in the agenda of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue in Brussels.

The strategy for the return of displaced persons during and after the conflict in Kosovo, drafted by the Kosovo’s Ministry for Communities and Returns, is facing numerous challenges in its implementation stage. Ministry’s spokesperson, Uroš Staletović, said that usurped property is a significant obstacle to the return of displaced members of the Serb community. According to him, only ten percent of the IDPs have returned to Kosovo, namely 20,000 out of a total of 200,000.

Deputy Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Dušan Kozarev informed the participants of the OSCE Summit "Human dimension" about the problems that face the Serbs in Kosovo and presented numerous examples of endangering the fundamental human and civil rights and freedoms.

Return to Kosovo is unsatisfactory and better conditions must be provided for the return and survival, it was said at the meeting of UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons Chaloka Beyani and the Minister for Communities and Return Dalibor Jevtić.

The concept of the Sunny Valley returnee settlement in Kosovo has been presented a UN special rapporteur.

Chaloka Beyani, in charge of human rights of internally displaced persons (IDPs) learned about the project from Dusan Kozarev, deputy director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo.

Kozarev also told his about "the obstacles to a greater sustainable return of IDPs," Tanjug reported on Monday.
