Isa Mustafa, leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), writes on his Facebook account today: “Last night, after lengthy discussions and taking into account the situation in the country, we agreed in principle with Mr. Hashim Thaci, leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, to reach a coalition agreement for the new government. The government will be led by the LDK and responsibilities will be divided equally on all levels. Present at the discussions were the President of Kosovo and the United States Ambassador.

Leaders of the coalition bloc, except for LDK leader Isa Mustafa, met today to discuss the crisis of the coalition after the decision to give way on the post of Assembly Speaker. Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Fatmir Limaj, leader of the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) and Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti met to discuss the LDK’s request to redesign the 10 June agreement. No media statement was issued after the meeting.

Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti met today in Pristina with Swedish Ambassador for Albania, Kosovo and FYROM, Mats Staffansson. Kurti said after the meeting: “We have insisted on a written agreement with the AAK-LDK-NISMA coalition, because we don’t want to have the same governance that we had before. We believe that dialogue and privatization are the two processes that have damaged Kosovo the most; therefore, we want a different orientation. This is the best time to change this detrimental course”.

No agreement was reached in today’s meeting between leaders of the Vetevendosje Movement, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA). Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti said there have been setbacks from earlier agreements. “There is discordance from earlier positions of the Vetevendosje Movement and the LDK-AAK-NISMA coalition. These are mainly related to dialogue with Serbia, the process of privatization and other issues,” Kurti told reporters after the meeting.

Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti, in an interview for Kosovapress, said the only question not included in the long list of queries that President Atifete Jahjaga sent to the Constitutional Court was “who is she really”. “The President prepared a long questionnaire that resembled a reporter sending questions for an interview to the president of the Constitutional Court. If someone reads those questions it will be hard to believe that they are coming from the president of a state.

Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti made it clear today to Dashiell Caldwell, director for Kosovo, Albania and Macedonia in the British Foreign Office, and to British ambassador Ian Cliff that dialogue with Serbia must be suspended. Kurti also said that the process of privatization should be stopped. Vetevendosje issued a communiqué after the meeting saying that Kurti informed Caldwell and Cliff about post-election developments and meetings between political parties. “We said that there are three phases. Phase one, and we all agreed on this very quickly, is that there will be no Thaci 3.

Sources told Gazeta Blic that AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj met today in Pristina with Nisma leader Fatmir Limaj. The two leaders discussed a coalition of opposition parties against the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) led by Hashim Thaci. The news agency tried to contact AAK and Nisma representatives but they were not available for comment. Sources also told the news agency that after meeting Limaj, Haradinaj also met with Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti.

The Vetevendosje Movement will hold talks with the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Nisma, to block the formation of the government by the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).
