Russian Prime Minister Medvedev in Belgrade on October 19 (Beta, B92)

Belgrade based news agency Beta quotes press service of the President of Serbia announcing that Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev will visit Belgrade on Saturday, October 19.

Serbian media reported earlier that Medvedev comes to Belgrade on the occasion of marking 75th anniversary since the liberation of Belgrade in the World War II, as well as that he will address MPs on the Special Assembly of the Serbian Parliament.

Detailed agenda and timetable for the Russian Prime Minister's visit will be announced later.

Serbia’s Ministry of Education has declared the 2019-2020 academic year as the year of free entry, which means that the education of all those entitled to enroll will be paid for from Serbia’s budget.

The German Ambassador in Belgrade Thomas Schieb said on Wednesday that Serbia needs a comprehensive agreement with Kosovo to take what he called a decisive step in its European integration process.

''Germany wants to see the comprehensive agreement reached through a dialogue,'' he told TV Prva adding that Serbia must resolve the Kosovo problem to become a member of the European Union and benefit from all the advantages of membership.

Kosovo Foreign Affairs Minister Behgjet Pacolli said that any other politician elected for the new Prime Minister would abolish tariffs, except Ramush Haradinaj.

"I repeat, winner of the election, the future prime minister who says he will keep the tariffs, is lying. I exclude Haradinaj from this because I know him as stubborn and when he fixates on something, you cannot change a thing. He does not change his position easily," Pacolli told KTV, quotes Belgrade based agency Beta.
