Kosovo police officer stabbed in North Mitrovica (KIM radio)

Two masked persons have attacked a Kosovo police officer Caslav Ilic (35) from North Mitrovica this morning and stabbed him several times in the stomach.

Ilic was admitted at Mitrovica hospital and Kontakt Plus radio learned that his condition is not life-threatening.
The attack took place this morning, a few minutes before 08:00 in the vicinity of students’ dormitories in North Mitrovica, when two masked persons approached Ilic and one of them stabbed him several times with a knife.

"The attacks on returnee families seriously jeopardize the return process. Those are not only attacks on Serbs who live in Kosovo, but also attacks on Serbs who want to return," said Dalibor Jevtic, Minister for Communities and Returns in Kosovo Government.

The Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo Jean-Claude Schlumberger and the OSCE Representative on Freedom of Media Dunja Mijatovic have condemned the attempted murder of a TV Klan journalist Milot Hasimja.

“I am shocked and appalled with today’s attack on Hasimja. Journalists should be free and safe in order to conduct their job, and today’s attack is absolutely unacceptable,” said Schlumberger and called judicial bodies to swiftly resolve the case.

Displaced from Đakovica/Gjakovë seek help from the US Embassy (KIM radio)

Displaced Serbs from Đakovica/Gjakovë, in a letter sent to the US Ambassador to Pristina Tracey Ann Jacobson, seek assistance in realization of their basic human rights.

They asked Jacobson to help them enjoy basic rights such as freedom of movement, freedom of religion and protection of the property.

Displaced Serbs say in a letter that those principles are valid for all citizens of the US, the state they respect, and ask whether the same principles are valid and for internally displaced Serbs from Đakovica/Gjakovë.

Kosovo Polje: Molotov cocktails and threats to Serbs (Kim radio)

Unknown persons threw three Molotov cocktails at two premises, which are located in the building "YU Programme", in the "Machine park" in Kosovo Polje. The same persons sprayed “Kill the Serb” grafitti on the walls of the building.

As noted the incident occurred last night. Three people from the car threw Molotov cocktails at the premise where the residents gather on the ground floor and which is owned by a Serb.

There were no casualties, except minor damage. The same premises were stoned on 21 October, said one of the tenants.

"The real life out of the media focus" (Radio KiM, Kontakt plus)

Kosovo media have less freedom because they are exposed to pressures and threats, economically weak, and some are under the direct influence of the government, it was the conclusion of the debate in the Media Centre Caglavica.

Editor in Chief of "Kontakt Plus" radio station in Mitrovica, Zeljko Tvrdisic believes that the key problem is bad economic status of the media, which is why they are prone to pressure.
