The office for Kosovo and Metohija states that Assistant Director of the Office in charge of the protection of cultural heritage, Dusan Jovovic was not allowed today to enter Kosovo through Jarinje crossing, reported Serbian media.

The Office for KiM press release stated that Jovovic planned to visit two Serbian monasteries in Kosovo, where the Office funded the construction of a monastery lodgings and an art workshop.

UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay said the United Nations institution is closely monitoring the situation regarding the UN mission in Kosovo.

"Our experts are helping to manage the World Heritage Sites that are listed on the Hazard List," Azoulay told Belgrade based daily Politika.

Radio KIM reported that Serbian Orthodox Church Visoki Decani Monastery marked yesterday the Feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God. Displaced persons from Djakovica and Decane were among attendees. The Liturgy was also attended by the US Ambassador in Kosovo Philip Kosnett with his wife Alison and the US General Shaun Harris with his colleagues, Monastery wrote on its Twitter profile.

Enver Hoxhaj should find the strength to squarely face the truth and to learn the facts from numerous local and international, scientific and professional sources, the Serbian Ministry of Culture and Information said in a response to Hoxhaj’s statement that ''Serbia is manipulating with facts by appropriating church objects as its own.''

The Presidency of the Association of Kosovo Historians ‘Ali Hadri’, the Decani branch, harshly reacted to statements by, as they assessed, an anti-Albanian priest – Abbot Sava Janjic, who has been serving in the Albanian Orthodox monastery of Decani, a monastery usurped by Serbian occupiers – since the medieval period. They gave the statement last night for the Voice of America news program.

Serbian Culture Minister Vladan Vukosavljevic sent a note to the Vatican protesting what he said were tensions caused by Albanian Catholic priests who served mass on the ruins of a Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo.

Albanian Catholic priests recently served mass on the ruins of the 14th century Orthodox cathedral of St Nicholas which was destroyed in an earthquake. Serbian media reported that the Albanian clergy and politicians had declared the church a Catholic temple.

The Roman Catholic Bishop of Kosovo Dode Gjergji and the retired Bishop of Bar Zef Gashi with their clergy and a group of believers served a mass on Thursday at the remains of the Orthodox Christian cathedral of St. Nicholas in the vicinity of the Novo Brdo medieval fortress, KoSSev portal reports.

As it was announced, the mass was held in commemoration of August 1 – the (Albanian) Diaspora Day and, for the very first time, at the “Catholic Church of St. Nicholas.” The mass was attended by the head of the Kosovo Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments, Ismet Hajrullahu.

Srpska Lista has condemned holding of the Catholic mass at the remains of the Orthodox Church Saint Nicholas in Novo Brdo, RTS reports.

German Ambassador in Pristina Christian Heldt commented on recent controversy related to changing the history that occurred after the Kosovo Ministry of Culture restoration of Saint Nikola Church in Novo Brdo, for which Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian Academy of Science and Arts said it is a part of the Orthodox heritage, represented as Catholic cathedral, KoSSev portal reported.
