Whose side is US on, Serbia or Kosovo? (Tanjug, B92)

US State Secretary Mike Pompeo has called on Kosovo authorities to abolish the tax on goods form Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina (increased by 100 percent). Pompeo did this during his meeting in Washington on Monday with Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, B92 reports.

The US official "encouraged Kosovo to seize this unique window of opportunity to reach a historic comprehensive normalization deal with Serbia under the EU-facilitated Dialogue process," a press release from the US State Department said.

"Some countries gave birth to political monster in Pristina" (Tanjug, B92)

Ivica Dacic said on Monday he would not be surprised if Pristina had indeed banned members of the Serbian government from entering Kosovo and Metohija. The first deputy PM and foreign minister stressed that this would run contrary to all agreements reached in Brussels (during EU-mediated Belgrade-Pristina negotiations).

Dacic told reporters he would not be surprised by such a decision, given that imposing a 100 percent tax on goods (from central Serbia) was proof there was no rational and reasonable policy in Pristina now - " we have moved into the sphere of political insanity."

Serbia, Bosnia will not impose countermeasures on Pristina (Serbian Government, B92)

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke on Saturday with President of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia-Herzegovina Denis Zvizdic about the situation in Kosovo.

Brnabic and Zvizdic agreed in a telephone conversation that neither Serbia nor Bosnia-Herzegovina will introduce reciprocal measures for the time being, and will not make hasty moves towards Pristina, no matter how hard it might be in this situation, the Serbian Government announced.

Sava Janjic: To be silent when someone could force our people to leave KiM forever is, from a spiritual perspective, totally unforgivable (NIN, KoSSev)

We didn’t have an in-person conversation, instead we e-mailed each other. And yet, I think that my conversation with Sava Janjic, Abbot of Visoki Decani Monastery, as I’m conveying it to you, turned out just as it would had we sat across from each other. I wouldn’t have interrupted him, I wouldn’t have poked and prodded at him. Everything would have been the same, except for the first question, journalists Olja Beckovic wrote for NIN magazine.

Vulin: Project of “Great Albania” has not been abandoned (Tanjug, B92)

Serbian Minister of Defense, Aleksandar Vulin said that representatives of Albanians have never abandoned “Great Albania” project, Tanjug news agency reported.

He warned this project cannot be achieved without violence and the expulsion of all other peoples living in Kosovo and Metohija.

He added “Great Albania” is a threat to the entire region, but it is also concerning that the EU, NATO and the rest of the world either do not understand or choose to pretend that they do not understand “we are witnessing the creation of “Great Albania.”

Medicament and newspapers reached Kosovo (RTS, Tanjug)

Certain amount of medicament and newspapers reached Kosovo this morning, Serbian national broadcaster RTS has learnt. The newspapers were not distributed to the shops, but rather divided in the residential buildings, somewhere they were left in front of the doors or in postal boxes.

However, bread, milk and dairy products from central Serbia do not reach Zvecan for the fourth day in a row, since Pristina imposed 100 percent taxes.

The medicaments’ supply is also in decline, while the most difficult situation is with oxygen reserves, RTS correspondent said.

“We agreed to pay 100 percent taxes, and then excuse was the address” (Tanjug, KIM Radio)

There are no daily Serbian newspapers in Kosovo today either, Tanjug news agency reports.
