Head of the EU Office in Kosovo and Special Representative, Nataliya Apostolova, said that support for communities is a precondition for European integration. In her remarks at a conference on the inclusion of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities into the Kosovo society, Apostolova said that while integration of communities contributes to European integration, the reality on the ground is “bitter” as these communities experience discrimination and poverty.

Head of the EU Office in Kosovo and Special Representative, Nataliya Apostolova, said today at the presentation of priorities during the Bulgarian presidency of the EU that the possible abrogation of the specialist chambers would have serious consequences in Kosovo’s EU integration process.

Kallxo reports that European Union considers the initiative for repealing the specialist chambers to be “dangerous” while the head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Nataliya Apostolova, said such a move would undermine Kosovo’s credibility. “Abrogation of Law on Specialist Chambers and Specialist Prosecution Office would be a dangerous move undermining rule of law and credibility of Kosovo as EU partner. I call on political leaders to put national interest first and work for the common good and further European integration,” Apostolova wrote in a Twitter post.

Head of the  EU Office to Kosovo Naliya Apostolova, said Kosovo should consider  review of the Justice Sector a priority, to proceed further with the agenda of European reforms, amendment of the criminal code, code for criminal procedure. Law on prevention of conflict of interest as well as concept document for suspension of senior officials who are indicted.

Apostolova said that it is time to do something on this direction and that she considers endorsement of this concept document to be special.

Members of the Serbian List met with the head of the EU office in Kosovo, Nataliya Apostolova. During the meeting, they explained how they will perform in this assembly, and pointed out the key problems that Serbs from Kosovo are facing, reports RTK2.

In a roundtable organised by the Group for Political and Legal Studies on the implementation of Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA), Apostolova said she plans to convey her concerns to the Assembly President, Kadri Veseli.

Mayor of North Mitrovica Goran Rakić ​​issued a press statement early this morning in which he said that he was surprised by the statement of the EU Special Representative Nataliya Apostolova that the European Union was not responsible for the cancellation of financial assistance to North Mitrovica, but the local government.
