Gecaj: Meeting between the government and Serbian List expected (Indeksonline)

Ever since the endorsement of the Law on Trepca, the Serbian List has boycotted works of the government of Kosovo. Today, Deputy Minister from the Serbian List, Branimir Stojanović, was seen at the Kosovo government building, however this does not have to do with their return at the works of the government.

Deputy-Minister for Local Government, Bajram Gecaj told Indeksoline that the government does not have any official indication for some kind of “freezing” of the functions by the Serbian List.

Government of Kosovo insists it will not delay resubmitting border demarcation deal (RTK)

Kosovo Government officials insist that there will be no delays in resubmitting the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro to the Assembly. The ratification process will also require the votes of the MPs from the Serbian List which is at present boycotting Kosovo institutions. The bill requires at least 80 votes in favour to be passed and the ruling coalition faces the prospect of having 11 votes less from the members of the Serbian List. This means that the ruling coalition currently can only muster 73 votes in favour.

The Serbian list handed the request to the Constitutional Court of Kosovo to assess the constitutionality of the law on Trepca (media)

Slavko Simić, the head of the parliamentary group of the Serbian List, said after the submission of the request that on the occasion of adoption of the Law on Trepča, Articles 79 and 81 of the Constitution of Kosovo were violated, which relate to the Serbian community in Kosovo.

Simić also announced that the Serbian list will submit a request for the assessment of the constitutionality of the Law on capital investments, which has been adopted on Tuesday.

 

Government of Kosovo invites Serbian List to dialogue (Indeksonline)

Days after the Serbian List announced it was suspending its participation in Kosovo institutions, the government of Kosovo has decided to invite the party to join the discussion table and express their concerns. Advisor to PM Isa Mustafa, Bajram Gecaj, told the news website that the government has sent invitation to the Serbian List to discuss their demands and their return to institutional life. “They said they would come”, said Gecaj adding that he hoped the meeting will take place in the coming days.

 

The Serbian List: Pristina passed harmful law (Blic)

The head of the parliamentary group of the Serbian List Slavko Simić points that the Kosovo Assembly adopted another law, that is detrimental to the interests of the Serbian nation and Serbian property in Kosovo.

Simić told Tanjug that a law on strategic investments was adopted, which, he explained, fully enables the Kosovo Government to freely dispose of property that had previously identified as the ownership of the state or the society.

Osmani: Invite SLS in the Government, remove Serbian List from the coalition (Indeksonline)

Kosovo Assembly MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Vjosa Osmani, advised the government to breach the coalition with the Serbian List and replace it with the other Serb party Serbian Liberal Party (SLS), which currently has five MPs at the Assembly.

The news website notes that opposition parties in Kosovo and political analysts have continuously criticised the position of the Serbian List vis-à-vis the state and institutions of Kosovo, some even arguing that parties that don’t recognise Kosovo’s independence should not be part of the central government.

Lekaj: Serbian List boycott may bring tensions in Kosovo (Indeksonline)

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) parliamentary group chief, Pal Lekaj, said today that Serbian List’s decision to boycott Kosovo Assembly may bring tensions to the situation in northern Kosovo and will contribute to the growing political demands of Serbs in Kosovo. “The decision of the Serbian List to boycott Kosovo institutions may bring tensions in the north,” Lekaj said. These developments, according to him, would have to make Prime Minister Isa Mustafa reflect and pave the way for a new political momentum for Kosovo.

Serbian List’s boycott does not threaten ruling coalition (Klan Kosova)

Kosovo Assembly President Kadri Veseli commented today on the decision of the Serbian List to suspend participation in the Kosovo Assembly and the Government to protest against the approval of a law on Trepca mining complex. Veseli said that the boycott represents no threats to the ruling coalition but advised against such practice as “it does not contribute to the work of the Assembly”.  At the same time, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group chief, Ismet Beqiri, said the Serbian List needs to learn not to blackmail Kosovo.
