Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanović says that it will be decided, after the consultation with representatives of the international community, whether the representatives of the Serbian List will stay in Kosovo's institutions.

"If there is no real solution, we will see whether we will participate in all that reflects only the interests of the Albanians, but not our interests. Otherwise, we'll leave the Government and Parliament," said Stojanović to RTS.

Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister from the Serbian List, Branimir Stojanovic, warned that the Serb MPs could decide to boycott the work of the Kosovo Assembly. In an urgent meeting of the northern Kosovo’s predominantly Serb municipalities, Stojanovic said the draft law on revitalisation of the Trepca mine is unacceptable and political.

The Kosovo Assembly’s Committee for Economic Development adopted today in the first reading the draft law on the Trepca mining complex, which will be discussed at the plenary assembly session on Friday. Serbian List representative, Sasa Milosavljevic, said Serb MPs would not vote in favour of the draft law in its current content. He also criticised the government for not inviting Serb representatives to attend discussions on the draft law.

Despite the continuous statements of the government officials that they have the votes of the Serbian List for the agreement on demarcation of the border between Kosovo and Montenegro, representatives of this party state the opposite. Nenad Rasić, Kosovo MP from the Serbian List, said that Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa’s claims and those of the government spokesperson Faton Abdullahu that the Serbian List would vote the demarcation, are not true. “This is not true,” Rasić said not wanting to comment the matter further.

The Kosovo Assembly did not adopt an amendment to the draft law on strategic investments proposed by the Serbian List which would protect the interests of Kosovo Serbs, it is said. It is expected that the amendment will be again on the agenda of some of the next sessions of Parliament.

Serb members of the Kosovo Assembly did not participate at the September 1 session that was scheduled to vote on the border demarcation agreement between Kosovo and Montenegro. Political analyst, Shkelzen Maliqi, said in an interview for the paper that the Kosovo Government did not properly manage the issue of the border demarcation with Montenegro. Maliqi also said that contrary to claims made by opposition parties, the demarcation agreement is not dead. Maliqi further said that two sovereign countries can openly discuss the logical correction of the border. He denied that the opposition was a factor in the withdrawal of the demarcation bill from the Assembly last week.

Mustafa: We won’t meet anyone’s conditions in exchange for votes on demarcation (media)

Kosovo Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, said today that the government will very soon resend to the Assembly the draft law on the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro. Mustafa said that he would call a meeting with opposition representatives before sending the bill to the Assembly. Mustafa said he would schedule a meeting with the Serbian List, but added that the government will not agree to anyone’s conditions in exchange for their votes in favor of the demarcation agreement.
