Drecun: Belgrade can’t prevent creation of Kosovo’s army (N1)

The Head of the Parliamentary Committee for Kosovo and Metohija Milovan Drecun said that Serbia cannot block the transformation of Kosovo’s Security Forces (KSF) into an army but can ask Washington and NATO to guarantee the force would not cross into the north, N1 reported last night.

Drecun added that the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue on normalisation of relations would continue and that Pristina made some moves to secure a better position in the final stage of negotiations in Brussels.

European Union insists that normalization of Belgrade-Pristina relations happens within a year, before the end of EU High Representative Federica Mogherini mandate, but there should be no rush with a solution, the Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija Chairperson, Milovan Drecun told RTS.

Drecun added compromise is the only solution in a situation when dialogue between Belgrade and Pristian is halted, and Brussels wants an agreement as soon as possible.

A series of unilateral Pristina’s acts destabilize the dialogue and prevent its continuation, Chairperson of the Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun told RTS morning news edition.

Commenting on Pristina’s initiative to join Interpol, Drecun said Serbia is making utmost efforts to prevent that and that many Interpol member states now completely understand what Pristina wants.

Drecun: Nasim Haradinaj best argument against Kosovo army (RTS)

Chairman of the Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun told RTS that the statement of Nasim Haradinaj, who said he was killing Serb soldiers whenever he could and that he regrets of not killing as many as he wanted, is scandalous and serves as the best evidence why Kosovo army should not be formed.

Speaking for the RTS morning news edition, Drecun said this indicates the absence of progress in Kosovo and Metohija, that there is no progress in the functioning of the institutions and in prosecuting those who have committed war crimes.

Drecun: Answers to crimes in archives of international community (RTS, Serbian media)

Serbian Working Group for gathering facts and evidences in shedding the light on crimes committed in Kosovo and Metohija urged embassies of states that were part of KFOR’s contingents to open their archives, Serbian media report.

Several thousand documents, Serbia got hold of, were presented to the ambassadors and international community representatives, urging them again to open their archives.

Drecun: Pristina’s government decision on army destabilizes talks (RTS)

Chairperson of the Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun told RTS, decision of the Pristina’s government, that adopted amendments to the law on transformation of the KSF into an army, indicates an increased unwillingness of Pristina to reach final agreement with Belgrade.

Drecun added, this is a detrimental move that is destabilizing talks currently ongoing and relate to the plan of final resolution of Kosovo and Metohija status.

Drecun on President Vucic’s visit to Kosovo (RTS, BETA)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic during his visit to Kosovo on 8 and 9 September would inform people there how the dialogue with Albanians is ongoing and offer a framework of solution to the Kosovo issue, Chairperson of the Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun told RTS.

“He would, the most probably, offer a framework of the solution the way he sees it and listen to the opinion of Serb representatives there, to open a discussion in order to know how to move forward,” Drecun added.

Drecun: Database on KLA crimes established (Tanjug, RTS)

Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija Chairperson Milovan Drecun met with UN Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs, Miroslav Jenca and informed him that a unique database on all KLA committed crimes was established, and that this base is not selective regarding the victims’ ethnic background, Serbian media reported.
