Lunacek: Five member states aren’t doing anything to recognize Kosovo (Koha/ABC News)

In an interview for ABC News, Ulrike Lunacek, the European Parliament’s Rapporteur on Kosovo, said she was very pleased to hear Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship, Avramopoulos, say that Kosovo is making the final steps toward visa liberalization. “This is the first time that I am hearing something like this from the Commission. Kosovo authorities need to adopt another four laws. I will not give any dates, but if Kosovo adopts the laws and the Commission continues its work, then the member states will have to say yes.

Rule of law institutions to coordinate actions against corruption (Koha)

Representatives of rule of law institutions held a joint meeting on Monday in order to coordinate actions to be taken in combating corruption. The meeting was attended by Acting Head State Prosecutor Syle Hoxha, head of the Kosovo Judicial Council Enver Peci, director of the Kosovo Police, Shpend Maxhuni, representatives of the Supreme Court and EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) judges and prosecutors.

Jahjaga meets PM Mustafa and representatives of security and justice institutions (Koha)

The President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, met on Friday with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, Chairman of the Judicial Council, Enver Peci, Acting Head Chief State Prosecutor Syle Hoxha and Kosovo Police Director Shpend Maxhuni, to discuss steps to be taken in combating corruption and organized crime.  Jahjaga said that the fight against corruption and organized crime should be intensified and urgently addressed in order to help Kosovo’s economic development and achieve progress in meeting visa liberalization reforms and European integration.

FM Thaci meets Japan ambassador Makoto Taketoshi (Koha)

Kosovo’s Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci on Thursday met with Japan nonresident ambassador to Kosovo, Makoto Taketoshi. Thaci and Taketoshi discussed the cooperation between Kosovo and Japan and the support that Japan is giving to Kosovo in the political, economic and cultural area. "Kosovo can learn a lot from Japan’s experience in economic development. I was glad to learn that Japan will create even more opportunities for young people to study in Japan, " Thaci said.

Over 100 persons repatriated from Germany, Austria and Hungary (Koha)

Over 100 persons who migrated to Germany, Austria and Hungary in late 2014 and early this year, were repatriated to Kosovo on Wednesday.  The costs of returns were covered by Austrian state, while Kosovo’s Interior Minister, Skender Hyseni, warned that many more people would be repatriated during this month. Hyseni asked for additional funds by the government of Kosovo, in order to facilitate the repatriation of migrants.

Jahjagaj meets head of EULEX, asks for Limaj case to be resolved (Koha)

Kosovo’s President, Atifete Jahjaga, met on Wednesday with head of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), Gabriele Meucci. Jahjaga and Meucci discussed cooperation in the field of justice and increasing the efficiency in the fight against corruption and organized crime. During the meeting, Jahjaga was interested particularly in the case of the leader of the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) Fatmir Limaj regarding the allegations that EU officials interfered in his case.

Termkolli withdraws signature in SHIK investigation (Koha)

Melihate Tërmkolli, MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), after leaving her former party the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) has withdrawn from signing the request to set up a parliamentary committee that would investigate activities of the former Kosovo Intelligence Service.  Tërmkolli has been the most prominent MP in Parliament accusing SHIK for numerous murders after the conflict in Kosovo.
