Ivanović: EULEX tried to repair the reputation among Albanians with my arrest (Kontakt plus radio)

Leader of the Citizens' Initiative SDP Oliver Ivanović says that he was arrested in order to have some "recognizable" Kosovo Serb charged with war crimes, but also for EULEX to improve its reputation among Albanians.

On the eve of today's hearing on the appeal against the verdict which sentenced Ivanovic to nine years in prison for war crimes, he told the daily Informer that his arrest should be viewed in light of "the great dissatisfaction of the Albanians'' due to the formation of the Special Court for war crimes.

The Court of Appeal of Kosovo scheduled for November 22nd one more, additional hearing in the case against the leader of the Civic Initiative SDP Oliver Ivanović.

North Mitrovica Mayor Goran Rakić said today that the main bridge in Mitrovica will not be open until the end of this year.

The Serbian List announced today that it will file an appeal with the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, on the Law on strategic investments, which was adopted by the Kosovo Assembly.

Head of the parliamentary group of the Serbian List Slavko Simić to file the appeal, along with MPs, announces the Serbian List.

The Serbian list previously, on October 13, has filed an appeal on the Trepča Law to the Constitutional Court.

The law on strategic investments will not be enforceable in the territory of the municipalities in northern Kosovo; it was concluded yesterday at a meeting of mayors from northern Kosovo.

''At the moment when the whole region aspires to European values, the adoption of such a law which centralize decision-making, and thereby completely excludes the principle of decentralization, indicates insincere attitude of the central government towards local governments,'' reads the statement.
