President, what are you waiting for? (Kosova Sot)

The front page of the paper says that new elections in Kosovo are unavoidable because “all the other alternatives to overcome the political crisis, created since the establishment of an insatiable government of elephants, and later the signing of the anti-constitutional agreements, have been exhausted.”  Kosova Sot further notes that based on the Constitution, the power to dissolve the Assembly and announce the date for new elections belongs to the President.

In addition, Kosovo in December received the news of having been qualified for programmes of the Millennium Challenge Corporation.

The “surprise” (Kosova Sot)

The paper’s front-page editorial notes that the Constitutional Court of Kosovo “surprisingly” rendered as unconstitutional the agreement for the establishment of the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities, “preventing thus an outbreak of the situation following tensions in the Kosovo Assembly and protests by the opposition”. “The President reacted immediately calling for political dialogue in order to restore normality, but MPs who raised awareness by throwing teargas in assembly sessions, are still in detention or under house arrest.

The government is destroying the Republic (Kosova Sot)

The paper’s front-page editorial today notes that no one more than the ruling-coalition benefits from the teargas and the chaos that is created in the Kosovo Assembly. The paper further criticizes the government for approving the budget for next year which is the same as last year. “The government knows very well that with the adopted budget for next year, Kosovo will only manage to survive, but it wouldn’t be able to develop.
