Germans don’t want Vetevendosje to lead talks with Belgrade (Rrokum)

A reliable source in the LDK-AAK-NISMA coalition told Pristina-based Rrokum TV that foreign diplomats, especially Germans, have made it clear to the coalition that they should not yield to Vetevendosje’s terms, especially the condition to lead talks with Belgrade. The diplomats have also said that blocking privatization and the establishment of the association of Serb-majority municipalities should not even be considered. “It was made clear to us that all we can do with regards to the privatization process is to review suspicious cases.” the source said.

Vetevendosje: Our principles have not been accepted (Gazeta Blic)

Vetevendosje Movement has rebutted reports that the post-election coalition bloc between the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA), has accepted their conditions for entering the Government.

New elections or a broad-based coalition government (RTK)

While Vetevendosje’s terms seem to be unacceptable for the opposition bloc, the Serbian List is expected to get a key role in the forming of the new government. Political analysts in Pristina believe that Kosovo will not have strong institutions if any of the political parties try to form the government while relying on the votes of the Serbian List. They also argue that if a broad-based coalition government is not formed, Kosovo should go to new national elections.

Gashi: New elections, potential for violence and conflict (Politiko)

LDK MP Arben Gashi told Politiko that new parliamentary elections are not the right solution, “because they would contain a great potential for conflict and clashes between groups and this would be very dangerous for the country”. Gashi said that in order to avoid violent events, the Constitutional Court needs to pave way to the establishment of institutions as quickly as possible. “First we need to wait for the final ruling of the Constitutional Court and then we will make the right decisions,” he added.

Kurti: We could head to new elections in September or October (Telegrafi)

Vetevendosje Movement, although the third largest party and known for its firm stances particularly about relations between Kosovo and Serbia, seems to have the decision on whether to send Kosovo to new elections or not in its hands.

“We are always ready for elections now that we have not won yet but even when we win because we think it is too rare to once in four years have elections in a Kosovo which is swarming with all sort of problems”, Kurti said in an interview for Albanian public broadcaster, TVSH.
