The Court of Appeal of Kosovo scheduled for November 22nd one more, additional hearing in the case against the leader of the Civic Initiative SDP Oliver Ivanović.

Lawyer Nebojša Vlajić says that judges in the case want to investigate allegations of the defence that for the events for which Ivanovic has been sentenced, a lot of witnesses have testified during the proceedings which took place before the UNMIK court.

Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police, Naim Rexha, is reporting on Nehat Thaçi’s arrest to the Kosovo Assembly Committee for internal affairs, security and supervision of the Kosovo Security Force.

“On 28 September, at around 00:10, a person reported the case of the arrest of the official Nehat Thaçi during his entrance in Serbia. According to him, the lieutenant-colonel crossed the border at 20:10 hours.

Kosovo Police Deputy Director, Naim Rexha, told the Kosovo Assembly Internal Affairs Committee today, that the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) informed the police about the arrest of Kosovo Police Regional Director Nehat Thaci by Serbian authorities. “Serbia did not inform the Kosovo Police about Nehat Thaci. It sent the information through UNMIK,” Rexha was quoted as saying.

The Serb Orthodox Church representative, abbot Sava Janjic, claimed that the Orthodox Church building at the University of Pristina campus was twice confirmed to be under the ownership of the Serb Orthodox Church by UNMIK in 2003 and 2012. Janjic claimed to have in possession a certificate issued by the Kosovo cadastral agency showing that property in question belongs to the Serb Orthodox Church and that the construction permit was given in 1990 by Hamdi Vraniqi, father to one of the officials from the party that most vehemently opposes the church in Pristina.

Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic met with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in New York Thursday to discuss the situation in the region, Serbia's European path and the dialogue with Pristina.

Vucic thanked Ban for his constructive contribution to world peace during his term, as well as for UNMIK's engagement in Kosovo-Metohija.

Chief of school administration in Mitrovica, Predrag Stojčetović says he has serious problems when it comes to the entry of textbooks to Kosovo.

"The entry of textbooks for primary and secondary schools from central Serbia is banned at the administrative crossings," said Stojčetović.

Pristina's representatives "continue to pile on the (UN Security) Council falsehoods and lies and have lately engaged in outright propagandizing."

This is what Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic told the Council late on Thursday European time, as it convened to consider UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's latest report on the work of the UN mission, UNMIK, in Kosovo.

Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić will on August 25 attend a UN Security Council session in New York.

The Council will meet to discuss a regular report on the work of the UN mission in Kosovo, UNMIK, filed by the UN secretary-general, and covering the period between April 16 and July 1.

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Zahir Tanin, condemned the attack on the premises of the Radio Television Kosovo (RTK) in Pristina that took place on Monday evening.

“Violent attacks of this kind are never justified, and such acts are only detrimental to the future of Kosovo,” said Tanin. He calls for the perpetrators to be brought to justice and assures the relevant authorities of UNMIK’s full support in investigating this incident.

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Tuesday received UNMIK head Zahir Tanin, who congratulated him on the formation of the new Serbian government, noting the government and Vucic himself were generally seen around the world as the greatest support to maintaining regional peace and stability.
