Hashim Thaci, leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and Prime Minister of Kosovo, will surprise the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) with a new compromise proposal after he returns from New York. It is no longer a secret that Thaci doesn’t want to be left out of the new government. Seeing that President Jahjaga doesn’t plan to give away her post and that she enjoys U.S. support, the PDK leader has decided to offer his highest offer to the LDK.

The trio blocking the state and leaving no solution but taking to the streets (Gazeta Blic)

It seems the political situation in Kosovo has no solution, remarks in an opinion piece editor-in-chief of the Gazeta Blic news website, Adrian Collaku. He says that the “unprecedented” blockade by the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Hashim Thaci, the chairperson of the Kosovo Assembly session, Flora Brovina, and the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, seems to leave no other option but to take to the streets.

D-Day today (Gazeta Blic)

Today is the deadline which internationals in general and Americans in particular have given to political leaders in Kosovo to resolve the five-month long stalemate. Yesterday, leaders of political parties – Thaci on one hand, and Mustafa, Kurti, Haradinaj, and Limaj on the other – got caught off-guard by the sharp statement of the US ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson during a public debate. Apart from labeling corruption as being widespread in political parties, Jacobson also spoke about the political crisis.

Jahjaga wants to facilitate between PDK and the Bloc (Gazeta Blic)

Diplomatic sources told Gazeta Blic that President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, has already made it clear to the leader of Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Hashim Thaci, and the post-election coalition leaders that she will wait to the end of this week for them to come up with a solution and if they do not, she will decide her future steps. “She cannot do much. They will either go to her together or separately and tell them of the election date. The legal basis for elections has been prepared by her staff and Americans”, said an unnamed official.

Triangle of banality (Koha Ditore)

Publicist and former publisher of Koha Ditore, Veton Surroi, writes in an opinion piece that while the Bermuda Triangle serves as a synonym for a mystery, in Kosovo there is a similar type of a triangle between the leader of Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) Hashim Thaci, President of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga, and President of Constitutional Court Enver Hasani. The Kosovo triangle, adds Surroi, possesses all necessary features of the Bermuda Triangle – capacity to create losses and its banality. Thaci leads the triangle in all aspects.

Jahjaga with a ‘recipe’ on announcing elections (Gazeta Blic)

President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, has already a ready-made recipe on how to announce new elections. International experts are said to have prepared the legal roadmap on how Jahjaga could announce elections if the political crisis persists. In a document which Gazeta Blic claims to possess, international experts advise Jahjaga to take into account that article 82 of the Constitution, which refers to the disbanding of the Assembly, is inapplicable as the Assembly has not yet been constituted.

Vllahiu: Each passing day deepens the political, institutional and budgetary crisis (Telegrafi)

Arber Vllahiu, advisor to President of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga, said that each passing day without institutions means loss of Kosovo’s credibility in the international arena and is dangerous for the internal processes and decrease of the citizens’ welfare. “Each day lost means further deepening of the political, institutional, budgetary, and financial crisis. A joint meeting of the leaders to agree on the way forward would help to finally take the country out of this impossible situation”, Vllahiu said.

Jahjaga decides not to go to Belgrade (Gazeta Blic)

President of Kosovo has sent a negative reply to the organisers of the Trilateral Commission meeting set to take place in Belgrade from 31 October to 2 November. Klan Kosova sources from Jahjaga’s office said the President informed the organisers in a letter. She justified her decision with internal developments in Kosovo and efforts to facilitate the dialogue between political parties so that new institutions are formed as soon as possible.
