BELGRADE - Deputy Chief Prosecutor at Kosovo’s Special Prosecution Office Jonathan Ratel has pledged that EULEX will reopen all cases of kidnapped and murdered journalists in Kosovo-Metohija, the Journalists' Association of Serbia (UNS) has said in a release.

A delegation of UNS representatives met with Ratel at the EULEX headquarters in Pristina Friday for exchange of information on the cases involving kidnappings and murders of journalists in the southern Serbian province.

BELGRADE – Serbia’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said Thursday that the agenda of a new round of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina had not yet been drawn up and that Serbia expected the implementation of the Brussels agreement to continue from where it was left off.

Absurd accusations of Isa Mustafa and Hashim Thaci against the Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic are the best proof that he is protecting interests of Serbia, like he does in the same manner by implementing economic measures, which will result in signing an arrangement with the IMF and by leading brave policy with regards to economic reforms for which he enjoys support of the entire world, said director of the Serbian Government’s Office for Kosovo and Meothija, Marko Djuric.

PRISTINA - Kosovo's Central Election Commission (CEC) published Tuesday the final results of the January 18 snap mayoral election in the Serb-majority town of Gracanica in central Kosovo-Metohija.

The new mayor will be Vladeta Kostic, the candidate fielded by the Citizens' Initiative Srpska. According to the CEC results, Kostic received 64.83 percent of the vote, or 4,784 votes in total.

The snap election for mayor of Gracanica was held because former mayor Branimir Stojanovic had been appointed to the post of deputy prime minister of Kosovo.

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic met on Tuesday with Patriarch Irinej of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) and informed him about his recent visit to Kosovo-Metohija.

Vucic said that the position of Serbia is not easy and that it should act wisely, responsibly and united.

This is the approach we need to take in solving all of our country's problems, the prime minister said, adding that the dialogue with the Serbian Orthodox Church is an important part of this approach.

BELGRADE - The political chapters- 23, 24 and 35, should be the first to be opened this year in the EU integration process, Serbian Minister without Portfolio responsible for EU integration Jadranka Joksimovic said on Tuesday.

In a live broadcast on Radio-Television of Serbia, Joksimovic said that the year behind us was marked by the reforms and major efforts aimed at creating a successful and modern state.

“We are not putting reforms in place so that we break records in chapter opening, but rather to set a new record in reforms, if possible,” Joksimovic said.

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic received a farewell visit from Peter Due, representative of the UN Secretary General and head of the UN Office in Belgrade, the Serbian government's media relations office said in a release.

Serbia highly appreciates the role of the United Nations and has full confidence in the world organization, and it therefore wants UNMIK to play a greater role in Kosovo-Metohija, Prime Minister Vucic said.
