The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), informed through a press release that they do not welcome the proposal of the Kosovo PM Isa Mustafa, for establishment of a commission that would assess Kosovo’s delineation of the border with Montenegro.
This party considers Mustafa’s proposal to be an insult and adds that he is trying to legitimize his theory.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said today during the meeting of the government that Kosovo is risking to be left without liberalization of visas in 2017, if the agreement on the demarcation of the border with Montenegro is not ratified. He proposed establishment of a commission that would assess Kosovo’s territory.
Kosovo Assembly MP from the Serbian List, said during an extensive interview for lajmi.net that his party does not have a stance on creation of the army of Kosovo. He considers that this issue is not a priority. “We are far from any kind of discussions and there are absolutely minor chances to have discussions regarding the army in the future.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo Isa Mustafa, said that the role of the civil society in Kosovo is very important, and proposed for them to be more involved in the Brussels dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade as well as on the implementation of the Stabilization Association Agreement signed between Kosovo and the European Union.
Mustafa also considered that the civil society should be involved on the election reform.
The paper’s Brussels-based correspondent, Augustin Palokaj, in an opinion piece today writes that the European Commission “looks ridiculous” when trying to justify why they have put the ratification of border demarcation agreement with Montenegro as a condition to Kosovo obtaining visa liberalisation. “In the European Commission’s documents, we can find many evidence that Kosovo is being drastically discriminated.
Slobodan Vujicic, head of the Association of Montenegrins in Kosovo, through a press statement said that Montenegro and Kosovo can make necessary adjustments to the agreement on border demarcation, adding that demarcation should not be an obstacle to process of visa liberalisation for Kosovo. “The good neighborly relations between Kosovo and Montenegro are at the highest level. We are convinced that Montenegro as a state has not been and will not be an obstacle to Kosovo’s visa liberalisation process.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said during today’s meeting of the government that Kosovo has fulfilled all the required criteria for visa liberalisation, except for the ratification of the draft-law on demarcation of the border with Montenegro.
Kosovo Assembly President Kadri Veseli said today that Montenegro will soon address the European Union regarding the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro. According to Veseli, Montenegro will do this because it does not want the citizens of Kosovo to remain isolated because of this issue. “We talked with Montenegrin officials, who have confirmed to us that they would approach the European Union with an official letter which will require that citizens of Kosovo should not remain isolated because of demarcation,” Veseli said.
Head of the European Union Office in Pristina, Nataliya Apostolova said firmly during a press conference today that combating of crime and corruption are conditions for liberalisation of visas.
She said that progress has been made on this direction, however, she also mentioned the condition of the demarcation of the border with Montenegro, saying that there will be no visas without conclusion of this issue.
Head of the dialogue among the political parties, Naim Rashiti, informed that the efforts to reach a consensus on Demarcation, will continue. However, the date for the next meeting of the leaders is not set yet. The governing coalition claims to be waiting for the reach of a consensus, while the opposition expects from the government to accept reconsidering of the agreement.
