Hoti: Bad electrical installation caused ignition of vehicle (KIM radio)

The fire on the car "Ford Fiesta" owned by journalist of KoSSev Nevenka Medic most likely was caused by bad installation, according to Besim Hoti, Deputy Director of the Regional Police in the North.

"In this case no one was a suspect, since the owner of the vehicle had problems previously with the electrical installation."

Kosovo’s Interior Minister Skender Hyseni said in a press conference today that the Kosovo Police will never be subject to political orders and that it handled yesterday’s protest in Pristina “marvelously.” Hyseni said that violence directed at the police is unacceptable and that no one will be amnestied from responsibility. He called on the opposition to discuss the issues of concern at the Assembly and not take to the streets. Koha reports that in the press conference, Minister Hyseni also admitted that the Kosovo Police has no equal approach to all of Kosovo.

Serbs prevent Minister Hoti from visiting the north (Klan Kosova)

Kosovo Minister of Finance Avdulla Hoti and the director of Kosovo Customs Lulzim Rafuna were not allowed to visit Leposaviq/Leposavic as local Serbs had put up a roadblock preventing their further travel. The roadblock is said to have been put up as a sign of protest but it is not yet clear what the local Serbs were protesting about. Some sources said one of the reasons could be that the Serb residents have not their salaries from the Serbian government.

Around 13:00 pm, there was a spontaneous gathering of citizens in northern Kosovo, in Rudare in the municipality of Zvecan/Zveqan, on the part of the main road Pristina-Raska. There were around a hundred citizens gathered, among which were and the Presidents of the provisional institutions of Mitrovica, Leposavic/Leposaviq and Zvecan/Zveqan.

In Rudare, Zvecan/Zveqan municipality, on the main road Pristina-Raska, a protest soon will begin, KoSSev learned unofficially from multiple sources.

Already more people have gathered at the site. The alleged motive of a protest is the arrival of ministerial delegations from Pristina, KoSSev learns from several sources in the North.

The mayor of North Mitrovica Goran Rakic is not familiar with a protest, who is, as he says, on the road Belgrade-Mitrovica.

Half of residents in northern Kosovo without opinion on Brussels Agreement (RTS)

Majority of residents in northern Kosovo are not satisfied with the current situation in that part of the province, whereas when it comes to institutions, Serbian Government is most trusted institution shows a poll conducted by the informal group of 14 NGOs from the north. The poll shows that Serbian Government is trusted by 14,3 per cent of residents, provisional bodies (Belgrade-sponsored) 12,2 per cent, whereas municipalities created after local elections in 2013  enjoy 10.8 per cent of trust.

Kosovo Government: Ongoing preparations for census in northern Kosovo (KoSSev)

Preparations are ongoing for census that will be carried out by the Kosovo government in four municipalities in northern Kosovo with Serb majority. Preparations were discussed yesterday by the Minister without portfolio in the Kosovo government Edita Tahiri, Minister of Culture Kujtim Shala and the director at Eurostat Pieter Everaers, communicated the Office of the Prime Minister.
