The Head of SANU defends his statement about Kosovo (Vecernje Novosti, B92)

President of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Art (SANU) Vladimir Kostic said that it was "important to express an opinion and when it is not suitable to the collective mind."

"I will not let someone to determine what I can say and what not and what is a unique opinion corpus which I should adhere to," said Kostic in a statement for the daily Vecernje Novosti.

Nikolic: Prevent destruction of Serbian heritage in Kosovo (RTS)

A potential admission of Kosovo to UNESCO would mean a start of annihilation of Serbia, says Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic.

Speaking to the RTS, Nikolic said that, in his address before the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, he will point out that the Serbian heritage in Kosovo has been destroyed for years and that it is high time that ethnic Albanian institutions start caring for them.

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon have agreed that "destruction of Serb cultural heritage in Kosovo would be a crime."

During their meeting in New York on Monday, Nikolic also asked for support in preventing the admission of Kosovo to UNESCO, and for protection of Serb heritage.

Nikolic set to meet with UN chief, EU officials (B92)

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will meet with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in New York on Tuesday.

During the day, he will also attend a reception organized by European Council President Donald Tusk, First Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans, and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.

The president is in New York for this year's UN General Assembly session.

Nikolic, el-Sisi on refugee crisis, Kosovo's UNESCO bid (Tanjug)

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic discussed the refugee crisis and Serbia's efforts to prevent Kosovo from becoming a UNESCO member with President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Nikolic said that the refugee crisis is a big test for Europe and its fundamental values.

He pointed out that Serbia will continue to treat migrants responsibly and in a civilized way.

Nikolić supports Brussels agreements (Danas)

“Foreign and internal policy of the state is led by the Serbian Government, which has support of the Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić,” was a short reply of the coordinator for cooperation with media in the president’s cabinet Vuk Fatić to a question asked by daily Danas about Nikolić’s stand on agreements with Pristina signed in Brussels by the end of August.
