Religious leaders appeal for dialogue (Indeksoline)

Religious leaders of the Catholic Church, Islamic Community of Kosovo and the Protestant Church held today a joint press conference where they invited the political specter to sit around table and find a solution to overcome the current situation.

Bishop of Kosovo, Dode Gjergji said their intention is for all the good-willing people to call upon their reason and understanding, for dialogue and for building the future for the children of all Kosovo citizens.

Serbs are only a decoration, but could win A/CSM (KoSSev)

Serbs are only a decoration in the Kosovo parliament and government, serving the purpose of presenting Kosovo as a multi-ethnic place to the international community, said MP in the Serbian Parliament and former mayor of Mitrovica North, Krstimir Pantic. He added that despite this, if Serbs are smart, they will be able to ‘work-out Community of Serb-majority municipalities’.

Drecun: Kosovo is the black hole of Europe (Danas)

The Chairperson of the Serbian Parliament Committee on Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun, stated yesterday on the occasion of the eight anniversary of the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo, that Kosovo is a failed experiment by mainly Western states and the black hole of Europe when it comes to respect of human rights and rights of minority communities.

Thaci: Opposition should not act like a political-criminal enterprise (Klan Kosova)

The Prime Minister of Kosovo Isa Mustafa and his Deputy Hashim Thaci, visited Ibrahim Rugova’s cemetery, to honor the eighth anniversary of Kosovo’s declaration of independence.

Thaci said that he went there to remember the President and his contribution to the independence of Kosovo.

Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Hashim Thaci, paid homage today in Prekaz. “Every time we go to Prekaz, our strength is renewed by remembering our glorious past and of course the future and state-building of Kosovo,” Thaci said. “We have been tolerant and remained silent until now, giving the opposition possibility to reflect, but we will not tolerate criminal action anymore,” Thaci said.

Displaced Serbs without protection (Vesti)

Internally displaced Serbs, beneficiaries of the free legal aid projects, have been left without lawyers’ representation in front of Kosovo courts. The paper was contacted by several families with complicated cases in front of the courts in Kosovo towns and informed that there is no one to represent them at hearings in February and March. The irony is that funds for the free legal aid were approved long time ago by the European Union, but the money is still not used due to various procedures.

Veseli: Assembly on Friday to decide on visa liberalization issues (Koha)

The President of the Assembly of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, confirmed after the meeting with the heads of parliamentary groups that the regular plenary session will be held on Friday at 10:00 hours. They will discuss 22 points of the agenda.

“We are continuing with a positive atmosphere. Being that tomorrow is a special day, we congratulate citizens for the eighth anniversary of the independence,’ Veseli said.
