Hoxhaj: UN seat for Kosovo alongside the establishment of Association/Community (RFE)

Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, said that the establishment of the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities should happen at the same time as Kosovo getting a seat at the United Nations. “Since the Association aims to advance the position of Serbs in Kosovo, I think its establishment de facto needs to happen parallel to Kosovo’s membership in the UN, when Kosovo gets a full legal status and international recognition,” Hoxhaj said.

Serbia should not leave the Brussels agreement, however, it should insist to know the time-frame of its implementation, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said in a show “Upitnik” aired on RTS.

“Pubic must understand that a dialogue on technical matters is currently being held, while a dialogue on permanent solution has not even started, since Pristina does not want such talks,” Dacic said.

Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, said in Strasbourg before the members of the European Parliament that it was unimaginable that ten years since the declaration of independence, there are still five EU countries that have not yet recognised Kosovo. “Agenda against international recognition of Kosovo is a Russian agenda and it is absurd that in 2018, the EU countries have not managed to find a common language on Kosovo. Hoxhaj: Crnadak’s statements, only to please Serbia (RTK)

Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, has reacted to the reiteration of statements of the Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Igor Crnadak, that Bosnia will not recognize independence of Kosovo. He took to Twitter to condemn “destructive statements” which according to Hoxhaj are being made to satisfy Serbia.

“Destructive statements from Bosnia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs against Kosovo’s statehood to satisfy Serbia. This attitude goes against regional cooperation and good neighboring,” Hoxhaj wrote.

Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, thanked Saudi Arabia for support and recognition of Kosovo’s independence but expressed disappointment with the refusal of many Arab countries to follow suit. “When independence of Kosovo was declared, we expected there would be a wave of support and recognitions from Arab and Islamic countries but this did not happen. This lack of solidarity has greatly disappointed the citizens and the government of Kosovo,” Hoxhaj said in a speech at the King Faisal Centre for Research and Islamic Studies in Riyadh.

Hoxhaj: Consolidation of Kosovo army not before 2028 (Klan Kosova)

The Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy leader and MP, Enver Hoxhaj, said the Kosovo Security Force needs to be transformed into an armed force next year but that Kosovo will not have a “genuine” army before 2028. “If the decision on KSF transformation is taken in 2018, we will have a genuine army only in 2028,” Hoxhaj said adding: “This is because how long it will take for consolidating into a genuine army.”
