Montenegro "violated European Convention on Human Rights" (Tanjug, B92)

The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that Montenegro has violated Article 2 of the European Convention of Human Rights.

It concerns the deaths in August 1999 of a group of persons of Roma ethnicity from Serbia (Kosovo), and Montenegrin authorities' failure to conduct "a prompt and effective investigation" into the case.

Serb candidates for the upcoming local elections in Kosovo (Serbian media)

The Serbian List submitted its list for mayors and councillors for the upcoming local elections in Kosovo scheduled for 22 October. The candidate of the Serbian List for the mayor of the municipality of Gračanica/Graqanicë is Srđan Popović, the deputy in the previous convocation of the assembly.

Former Mayors - Bratislav Nikolić, Gradimir Mikić, Svetislav Ivanović, Stevan Vulović, Vučina Janković and Goran Rakić - were nominated for the municipalities of Štrpce/Shtërpcë, Ranilug/Ranillug, Novo Brdo/Novobërdë, Zubin Potok, Zvečan/Zveqan and North Mitrovica.

Entire staff of Serbian embassy withdrawn from Skopje (Serbian media)

RTS is reporting it received confirmation that the entire staff of the Serbian embassy in Skopje has been withdrawn for urgent consultations in Belgrade.

Serbian Ambassador Dusanka Divjak-Tomic and the staff, as stated, arrived last night (Sunday) in Belgrade. A detailed explanation of what is happening will be given during the day today by Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić, said RTS.

Kosovo needs solution, not models (Serbian media)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that although all proposals for resolving the Kosovo issues are welcome, one should bear in mind that a solution is needed and not ideas, such as the "Cyprus model", which practically would mean maintaining a "frozen conflict".

Commenting on proposals to reduce, and then abolishment of UN mission in Kosovo, he pointed out that Serbia believes in the objectivity and status neutrality of the world organization.

The Serbian police is investigating what had happened with the original Dayton Agreement document in Serbia, who is to blame for its disappearance and whether a mere negligence or intentions were behind it, reported Serbian tabloid newspaper Srpski Telegraf.

The daily refers to its source in the police, who said it is a document of the state importance and it is important to clarify what had happened.
