Voice of America (VOA) in Serbian language writes that two weeks after the visit of the High State Department official Hoyt Bryan Yee to Belgrade - his encounters and messages are still being talked about. Especially one that Serbia should not sit on two chairs. The American diplomat explained at a gathering on the Balkans, held in Washington, what he meant when he said that, Voice of America reports.

Recent statements made by US State Department official Brian Hoyt Yee are "his views, that have not been not harmonized with the EU".

Yee was in Belgrade in late October when he said that that Serbia will not progress on its path toward the EU unless it gives up its ties with Russia.

President of the Serb List Goran Rakic in an interview for the Belgrade based daily Politika rejected speculations and reiterated the unique position of that party, that it would not support the formation of the Kosovo army, and said that there are no further negotiations on the Community/Association of Serb Municipalities (ZSO), and that he expects its formation.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told Pink TV late on Monday that his recent conversation in Belgrade with a US State Department official was "not easy".
According to Vucic, the US officials came here "to fulfill their interests, not ours."

Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has rejected the assessment of US diplomat Brian Hoyt Yee that Serbia was "sitting on two chairs."

Serbia is interested only in its own interests, Dacic said on Thursday.

Dacic told reporters in Belgrade that Serbia will continue to work in accordance with its state and national interests, "regardless of what they are saying, from the sidelines."

“Creation of the Association of Serb Municipalities is a life necessity that can resolve numerous issues in everyday life of citizens and functionality,” Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister, Dalibor Jevtic and President of the Srpska Lista, Goran Rakic said during the talks with the USA official Hoyt Yee, KIM Radio reported.

“We are concerned over fact that 1650 days since the agreement was signed in Brussels, no concrete steps were taken in that direction” their press statement reads.

US State Department official Hoyt Bryan Yee thinks that "integration and transformation" of the Western Balkans is in the interests of Brussels, and the region.

Speaking in Bled, Slovenia, he added that the readiness for this on the part of EU institutions is what is currently missing.

In an interview to Voice of America, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia, Hoyt Brian Yee, said that the international community would support any legally-constituted government in Kosovo that shares that same fundamental values.

In an interview to the Greek daily paper Kathimerini, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasian Affairs, Hoyt Yee, said that his country does not support any redrawing of borders in the region. “Borders of the Balkans countries are clearly defined, internationally recognised, and not a matter of dispute. During the first day of his visit, Hoyt Brian Yee met with the President of the Assembly of Kosovo Kadri Veseli, Minister for dialogue Edita Tahiri, as well as with representatives of Serbs in Kosovo institutions - Branimir Stojanović and Slavko Simić.
