UNMIK chief Zahir Tanin assessed last night that yesterday's developments in Kosovo were unacceptable and has urged the authorities in Belgrade and Pristina to avoid provocations and take the steps necessary to preserve the peace and security of citizens, reported Serbian media.
He said in a UNMIK statement that it was necessary that all interested avoid any rhetoric or measures that could escalate the situation further.
President of Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik told FoNet news agency that the arrest of Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director, Marko Djuric is an unacceptable act of violence of the authorities of the self-declared Kosovo.
He added this act of violence most certainly would not contribute to the advancement of international relations in the southern Serbian province.
Ksenija Bozovic, close associate of murdered Oliver Ivanovic, speaking in “Dogovor” show urged EUELX and representatives of embassies in Kosovo to tell what are they doing to find killers of Oliver Ivanovic, and Hashim Thaci to say “who will be hurt with the truth (about assassinated Serb politician),” KIM Radio reports today.
Nineteen years after the war in Kosovo, Pristina, in the yard of the church of St. Nicholas, the first Serbian cultural institution will be in operation. The Cultural Center will open on the Sretenje, the Serbia's Statehood day, reports KIM radio.
As announced at the Cultural Center in Gracanica, the opening of the cultural center is planned after the bishop of Raska Prizren Theodosije serves liturgy.
Chairperson of the Serbian Assembly Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun told Serbian media he does not believe Pristina would resolve the murder of Oliver Ivanovic.
Drecun said he does not believe Pristina “would come out with real information” which, according to him would close the room for speculations.
He also commented on the statement of the Kosovo President Hashim Thaci that the murder is not ethnically motivated, saying Thaci could say something like that only after the investigation is concluded, Serbian media reported.
Belgrade received not a single information related to the Ivanovic murder probe, Serbian Government Office for Kosovo Director, Marko Djuric told Serbian media.
Commenting on the claims from the prosecution office in Mitrovica that they are ready to cooperate with Belgrade and they have sent information from the investigation to it, Djuric said he has contacted representative of all state bodies and they confirmed that they received nothing from Pristina, Tanjug news agency reported.
Kosovo bodies have sent two requests to the Serbian Organized Crime Prosecution asking for specific information within the investigation of Oliver Ivanovic’s murder, Serbian Justice Minister, Nela Kuburovic told RTS, adding the Ministry would respond to these requests.
Speaking for the RTS main news edition, Kuburovic also said that a written response came from Pristina related to the Serbian Prosecution request to receive all information Pristina has gathered during an initial phase of investigation.
The Government of Montenegro, rebutted today reporting of the Pristina based media it has been agreed that the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dusko Markovic would visit Pristina in the end of January next year, Tanjug news agency reported.
“Date of the visit of the Prime Minister Dusko Markovic to Kosovo has not been agreed,” Montenegrin Government said and added the issue of demarcation for Podgorica is “a closed matter”.
Advisor to the Kosovo President Blerim Shala told the RTK2, (the Show "Poglavlje" (Chapter)), that "the momentum of the historic agreement between Kosovo and Serbia must be defined," and that there must be a time limit for the talks.
"In principle, we have to agree that something that remained, we have to end once and for all".
The Court of Appeals in Pristina dismissed complaint against the Minister for Communities and Returns, Dalibor Jevtic.
The court found the complaint as groundless. The case was initiated by the Kosovo Special Prosecution against Dalibor Jevtic and three his co-associates over alleged misuse of official authority, Novosti further reported.
Although, Basic Court in Pristina, dismissed the indictment in July this year, the Kosovo Special Prosecution submitted a complaint to the Court of Appeals that rejected the complaint as groundless.
